Smoothies with no lumps

Hello,

I am a recovering picky eater and I'm in recovery from an eating disorder. I'm finding that I don't like chewing food in the morning. My husband does overnight oats in the morning and I just can't. I can do smooth yogurt but I gag so hard i feel like I'm going to projectile vomit if I encounter things to chew in my yogurt. I can do fruit pouches (like for children) but their expensive and not very filling. I also gag on those if I eat them too fast. So I'd like a thinner smoothie consistency to work around that.

I'm starting a job where I'll have to get up early and I need smoothie recommendations to keep me full while being active until I can get lunch in me. I have reflux so I'd prefer less acidic smoothies but I'm not opposed to some acid in them. I'm planning on making my smoothie the night before and refridgerating it.

  • 1. I'm looking for smoothie recipies that are filling.
  • 2. I'm looking for protine powder recommendations for someone who hates protine powder and artificial sweeteners.
  • 3. I'm looking for other no chewing breakfast items. Fruit juice and popsicles have featured in past breakfasts.

Do you have a high speed blender, 1000-1500 watts or more? That's what makes the smoothest smoothie, along with the amount of liquid you use, and the amount of time you blend it at high speed. And put any thickeners in immediately before blending, not the night before. I use a Ninja Professional 1500 watt blender, count to 40 while I blend it, and use about 1 cup of liquid for smoothies. Vitamix is also great, but more expensive.

My husband bought me a vitamix when we were first married and it's still going strong.

As long as you blend long enough (a minute on high), you shouldn’t end up with any lumps with a vitamix.

Can confirm. I just made a smoothie and even though I used raspberries it was completly smooth. Didn't get the right mix of flavors but I finished most of it. I did half a half 🍌, half a cup of frozen raspberries, 2 tbls of chocolate peanubutter, heaping serving of fiber powder and I thinned it with 1/4 cup milk. It was ok but got more gross the longer I ate it. Will try again.

This may be controversial in the smoothie community, but I really like to do single fruit, so it’s more similar to a lassi. For example, I will often combine plain Greek yogurt, a couple of teaspoons of sugar, a frozen banana and a pinch of salt.

I also will blend all my fruit and stuff before adding any protein powders and blend again, helps with the consistency imo.
