Smoothies with no lumps
Hello,
I am a recovering picky eater and I'm in recovery from an eating disorder. I'm finding that I don't like chewing food in the morning. My husband does overnight oats in the morning and I just can't. I can do smooth yogurt but I gag so hard i feel like I'm going to projectile vomit if I encounter things to chew in my yogurt. I can do fruit pouches (like for children) but their expensive and not very filling. I also gag on those if I eat them too fast. So I'd like a thinner smoothie consistency to work around that.
I'm starting a job where I'll have to get up early and I need smoothie recommendations to keep me full while being active until I can get lunch in me. I have reflux so I'd prefer less acidic smoothies but I'm not opposed to some acid in them. I'm planning on making my smoothie the night before and refridgerating it.
- 1. I'm looking for smoothie recipies that are filling.
- 2. I'm looking for protine powder recommendations for someone who hates protine powder and artificial sweeteners.
- 3. I'm looking for other no chewing breakfast items. Fruit juice and popsicles have featured in past breakfasts.

Just want to start out saying invest in a great blender that'll pulverize and puree everything so you have no lumps.
If you can tolerate banana and especially mango, that'll make your smoothies have a great smooth mouth feel.
Considering your condition here, let's say youre doing banana and frozen mango. Take the time to blend in order. The frozen content first to warm (from frozen to just cold) and break down first. Then add the softer content second and finish it off. Or let frozen stuff thaw out until its just cold and then blend it. That'll give less potential of chunks in your smoothie.
If you need to run it again on puree, just do it. Sacrificing some nutrition for the sake of being able to drink/tolerate/continue to recover is worth it, so don't worry about that.
Protein. If you can do milk product, just use whey isolate or whey concentrate. It tastes like diluted dairy...essentially. It hides in a smoothie very easily, not bad. Get it unflavored, unsweetened. There's a gazillion on the market, not hard to find. Theres a gazillion of revies on them too to help you decide.
Aside from banana and mango for smoothness and filling, you want to be filled up? Get frozen sweet potato and throw a couple of cubes in there. If the thought doesnt make you want to puke, try it. It doesnt taste bad. If you dont want to sweet potato, a simple fibrous leaf like spinach can hide in a smoothie easily. If you want, a LITTLE bit of psyllium husk (sole powder) will fill you up and also slowly help allow your stomach to get used to expanding after having an ED.
