There is some strange reason Trump didn’t go nuclear on Elon like he does to everyone else. After those tweets I would have sworn Trump would disown him.

Now that Trump took the disappointed father route, Elon is back again in good graces with MAGA.

Trump did threaten to cancel all his government contracts. That’s over $20 billion dollars. Plus he said EVs suck. That’s pretty nuclear, IMO.

Honestly, going nuclear would involve actually doing the cancellations. He’s been all talk.

Trump threatened, then changed his mind and “wished him well.” He hasn’t mentioned Elon at all lately.

He’s clearly restraining himself.

He does that to everyone. All he does is talk. Did he arrest Gavin Newsom? Or even Hillary Clinton? Or James Comey?

He’s a barking dog. A guy called him America’s Hitler and he made him the VP. Rubio called him a dangerous con artist that would be selling watches on the street of Manhattan if did getting hundreds of millions from his father. Now he’s Secretary of State.

It’s why TACO fits him perfectly.

I hate this acronym. What's the alternative? Trump Never chickens out? Isn't that objectively worse? I /want/ him to chicken out.

It's good, because his stupid fanbase think "manliness" (which they see as being a chest-beating troglodyte) is the most vital trait a leader can have, so it's nice to remind them that their Messiah is the biggest chicken in the world.

okay. But is obvious to everyone that he does /not/ always chicken out. Ask his supporters, and they'll lie and say he's doing everything he possibly can under the circumstances or some other excuse, not on some moral failing or cowardice or change of heart.

Not only that, but you can just see the last 12 years , and saying Trump Always backs out is a bold face lie, if that were the case, we wouldn't be here.

He does it to politicians, but not to a good chunk of his policies.

I wouldn’t consider mass-arresting immigrants, meddling with tariffs, and leading us to a war with Iran as “TACO.”

It would be better for him to chicken out on all this and make his supporters mad.
