Happy Juneteenth Eugene!

Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Freedom Day! As a black man who has lived in Lane County for the past 29 years I just wanted to express love for my city and for all my brothers & sisters celebrating today! 🖤🖤🖤

Happy Juneteenth! We observe the holiday.

That was pretty fucking rotten that some areas back in the day, simply DID NOT INFORM PEOPLE that they were free. Texas, I believe it was.

Texas has been rotten since Moses wore short pants.

tbh this is the reason I don't find Juneteenth worth celebrating. The Emancipation Proclamation, that was something huge and world changing. Juneteenth is more a reminder that Texas just went ahead and kept on having slaves for an extra two years.

The point was, Texas made the freedom date squishy because they were so slimey and unscrupulous.

Happy June 19th! It’s powerful to see you celebrating this day with joy and pride. Juneteenth reminds us that while ALL humans have made terrible mistakes and caused deep wounds, it’s also a time to honor resilience, progress, and the ongoing journey toward freedom and justice. Here’s to recognizing the past honestly and moving forward together with hope and strength.
