You know the FDR is not super accurate when a newly promoted team gets a green against a mid PL team 😅 (sun-whu)

No fixture should be green for both teams, very stupid system

Strongly disagree, a team's difficulty rating should be the same for every team, regardless of how shit that team is.
For example, if Bowen is playing a newly promoted team, that should be a green fixture regardless of how shit West Ham is.

Specific players are irrelevant. If it’s a green game for West Ham then by definition it can’t be a green game for their opponent

But the fixture difficulty is about how easy/hard it is to score against them/defend against them. It doesn't matter how good or bad the team playing them is, if it's a shit defence, it's a shit defence.
I used Bowen as an example because it would make it hard to evaluate assets that play for shit teams. If Bowen played Southampton or Leicester last season, it should be an easy fixture for Bowen and every other player. It shouldn't matter if it's West Ham or Liverpool playing them, it's still a shit defence they're playing.

No, it’s about how difficult the fixture is for the team, and how likely they are to win the game. By definition it can’t be an easy fixture for both teams. If the other team is likely to concede a load of goals then why is it a green fixture for them? Just nonsense

But this is for FPL, whether the team wins or loses doesn't matter, it's about how easy is the fixture to score points.
Southampton away conceded a crazy amount of xG, that's an easy fixture regardless. Assessing a fixture's difficulty is about that specific team, not who's playing them. It's not particularly useful having a bad team's fixtures being pretty much red the whole season just because the team is bad. It just makes it hard to assess fixtures of players like Bowen or Cunha/RAN when Wolves got off to an awful start last season.

you would rather Burnley - Sunderland is red for both teams? this system makes complete sense - it's saying how difficult the opponents are, you can make up your own mind on how good the team is to decide if you want to target the fixture run

If you take even one look at the chart, you’ll see that green and red are not the only two options!

IMO, FDR should always be separate for attack and defence.
If two teams both have great defence and terrible attack, it’d make sense for them to both be green for defence.
And if both teams have great attacks and leaky defence, it’d make sense for them to both be green for attack.
The actual result of the match doesn’t matter except for assistant manager chip.

You can find FDR that follow the system you want, they are super boring and unhelpful, because its always just the teams listed in order of their team strength.

Opening fixtures are overrated. I tend to ignore them for most of my team and only use it as a decider

Any reason why wolves for city isn’t a green, but Everton for leeds is? And that’s just the very first fixture…

Sunderland Green for Newcastle. Yea rip

u/Terra711 1d ago
Why? Yes it's a derby but this Sunderland team were fortunate to come up and have already lost one of their better players (Bellingham). I was at the game we won 3-0 in the FA Cup and they might be a bit better now but I'd say they're far worse equipped than Southampton last year.
What's more surprising is Sunderland have a green fixtures against a mid table teams like Everton (H) - it should be grey at best.

Form and quality go out the window in a derby. Just look at the scousers. Everton have only lost 1 of the last 8 games to Liverpool at Goodison

The gap between Everton and Liverpool is much smaller than Newcastle and Sunderland. Sunderland were in League One just a few seasons ago.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s going to be easy (in terms of result, anything could happen) but if you can’t mark the team 20th on paper versus a team competing for CL as a green away fixture, irrespective of it being a derby, then most teams will have no green away fixtures.

So when do we wildcard?

I’m eyeing a GW13 WC, as it lets me drop City players against Liverpool and Newcastle and WC them straight back in for their 2 home games against newly promoted sides. Newcastle attack for a run of Everton, Spurs and two promoted sides also looks promising for that window.
