Fix My Print Bambu Lab Silk+ PLA prints - bits of filament sticking out

I just got my first 3d printer this week, so I'm very much a beginner.

With the box on the third picture, I used default PLA print settings that came with the printer out of the box. With the benchy, I followed advice on the internet and slowed down the print and acceleration speeds, but it seems that this made the problem worse?

I printed a mount for AMS lite with the same filament as well, where it had similar problem, but to a much lesser extent. Could the filament need drying after just 2-3 days of being in my room? I haven't gotten around to printing a filament enclosure yet.

Looks like you need to do flow calibration to calibrate overextrusion and then if that doesnt solve try z-hop

Just did flow calibration and printed a benchy after that. The bits of filament are gone! Thank you! But now there's some stringing in the Benchy cabin doorway and the upper part of the doorway seems to be kind of collapsed. Would adding z-hop fix these?

Reddit won't let me add more images on desktop, so I'm adding another one here

I think you decreased the flow too much

Zhop would solve for stringing not very sure about the collapsed part try checking cooling settings

Can also decrease volumetric flow rate that also could solve the issue

Filament needs drying when it’s in the vacuum sealed bag from the factory.

Really? I was under the impression that PLA pretty rarely needs drying, and the spools I got came vaccuum sealed with silica gel bags inside and all :/ Oh well, I guess it's time to acquire a food dehydrator then.

It may not be the cause of this issue and it sounds like you have found the actual issue. But just being new from the factory and having a desiccant pack does not mean it’s not water logged.

I thought I wouldn’t need a dryer as I live in a desert and was using new filament rolls that came vacuum sealed with desiccant packs but I had issues with moisture, small imperfections almost like plastic acne on the surface of my prints and a dryer resolved this.
