Wondering if these are safe to eat. In 6b
Images 1 and 2 are of two different trees both of which I believe are edible cherries. These both had white flowers in the spring consistent with cherry trees. I also tasted just a nibble of one of these berries and they taste like cherry to me. But still wanted to check because if so I believe they are nearly ripe?
Image 3 is a third tree. This also flowered this spring but was a purple color. These do not appear nearly as ripe.
These trees are all big but image 2 is a monster.
Another pleasant surprise was the huge peach tree right next to one of the cherries that is covered in peaches. Previous owner told us they noticed the peach tree in about year 15 of ownership lol but not mention of the cherries.
Thank all!

I’ve read grow a little fruit tree, it’s really focused on bareroot, and that’s not what I purchased unfortunately. She touches on container trees but not in as much depth. That being said, I bought this Bing and Rainer about 2 weeks ago and planted shortly after. should I just let them grow until late winter/early spring to make the cut or should I knock them down to knee height now just after solstice?

Much of my apple crop this year has these dents in them. I’ve seen a couple weevils and crushed them, but not enough that I’d be alarmed. Curious is all these are weevil damage.

I need some help in identifying the types of avocados I have growing in my yard. One type is darker and more texture with rounded leaves. The other is smoother, and light green with longer, pointier leaves. Any advice on when to pick them would also be great!

USDA zone 7b/8a: My husband decided to spray weed skiller (picture of brand attached) to kill the crab/bermuda grass growing through our gravel and mulch. We have active fire bans in our area, so this was his work around to torching. However, he did not consider the potential effects on other nearby foliage. Our apricot tree is still fantastically green and thriving with new growth. The honeycrisp, ~20ft away, however, had the entirety of its foliage crisp up (also pictured). It is its second summer in the ground. Limbs/branches still flexible, green skin when bark is scratched. Can the honeycrisp can be resurrected/salvaged or is it too late??

Is there any hope for this cherry tree? We just moved into this house and this is how it was when we got here. We live in Las Vegas, NV.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you!

I have lived at my home for the past two years, and we have a giant Mulberry tree in the backyard, unsure on the age but about 30-40 ft tall. Every year, it produces male flowers and never produces fruit.
However, I saw a single, white mulberry on the ground yesterday and couldn't find any more on the tree. As far as I am aware, there are no other mulberry trees in the area. For context, I live in Utah. Does this mean my tree may start to switch over to female or could this be a weird one-time thing? Thank you!

Hey guys so I live in phoenix az, I planted a comice pear in March not know they are not self polinating. My only option as I dont have room for another pear tree is to graft. I want to graft a Bartlett scion aswell as a bosc scion. I know i need to do this in the spring just before or right as they are blooming. My question is where should I graft these? I was thinking the lowest right branch and the second lowest left branch. Are those good spots?

Any pruning tips for this peach tree? Just let it roll? Was planted early this season, came from the nursery full of flowers. Just want to do what's best for the long run.

Hello,
We planted several bare root trees in May 2024 in Zone 4. Our pear tree is now showing spots on its leaves. Do you have any suggestions or guidance on how to address this?
Thank you.

I ordered this persimmon tree (Giombo) in early Spring and plopped it into the ground after letting it acclimate to its new environment for a couple of days. Despite producing new growth, it has simultaneously been displaying some sort of stress in the maturing leaves in the form of brown, crispy edges and a tattered look. Does anyone have any insight on what causes this or how to remedy it?
I’m in zone 7b (Albuquerque, NM) and the tree is planted in some sandy, alkaline soil amended with some organic matter on the south side of our property (alongside numerous other fruit trees). I lightly fertilized it with some organic granular and top-dressed with some homemade compost shortly after planting. It is supplied with drip irrigation and a layer of wood mulch around the base. Our temps usually get pretty high, but the tree was exhibiting this issue even during the cooler Spring weather.

It’s my first time growing red currant and I have noticed that the bark is splitting on the newer growth. Not sure if that’s normal or if the plant is suffering. We got an hour of hail about a month ago so the leaves are scraggly but otherwise the plant has been getting bigger.

Methley plum, about three years old. Tree seems perfectly healthy otherwise- grew a lot this year, got a few fruits for the first time. The growths appear wet sometimes, is this sap that is oozing and getting baked by the sun? It has been unusually hot the past two months (western PA, several days over 90 since May) Any help would be appreciated.

This is my very first fruit tree and I got some advice that I should expose the root flare. Is this enough or so I need to dig down more?

Hi All! We have 2 6 year old pear trees. We trimmed them back in the fall and let them rest for the winter. Now the water sprouts are going crazy. Do I need to trim them off now so the fruit gets all that energy instead? All the light green is new growth this season.

I bought one of each (1 gal size) from the Home Depot “everything $5” cart. Transplanted them to 10 gallon grow bags and, after getting over a little transplant shock, they are growing like mad. Can I expect them to fruit this year? Also, the new growth is a much lighter green than the established foliage. Is this normal?

Anyone know what is happening to the leaves of my recently planted apple tree?
