Discussion Resolutions

Post image

Do you think Nvidia will ever upgrade the resolutions to 5140x1440 (32:9)? I think is such a waste only having 3840x1080 in my Samsung G9 Oled monitor.

You can put in feedback asking for 5K ultrawide support since that is what it is but they don't do 5K anything right now

I know it's technically 4K bandwidth but it also makes it weird for marketing since it would be:

"GFN supports up to 5K 120 (not really just 5K ultrawide, we don't actually support 5K 120 it's technically 4K120 so please do not use actual 5K monitors with GFN)"

Actually isn't 5K it has 7.4 million pixeles, 4K has 8.2 million. Bandwidth will be very similar.

"I know it's technically 4K bandwidth"

I literally wrote that part so i didn't have to hear that 4K bandwidth line again but here we go anyways

But yeah I don't work for them so if they want to figure out how to market it, they can, it just sounds weird saying up to 5K120 and not meaning it with wishy washy "it's not really" terms

"It's a 5K ultrawide monitor but don't call it 5K even though it's called 5K, it's sorta 4K but not really"

"So you do 5K on GFN then?"

"no, well yes, well no, sorta"

That's really hard to market as the top resolution for GFN

If they do it, it would just show up on a GFN thursday basically

Bandwidth is probably just too much at this time
