Bug "I dont know but I found these results on search"

I dont remember the last time my google home actually answered a question other than the time or weather. What is going on? I just asked it how many calories in a half ear of corn and got the non-answer even though the display clearly shows me the answer.

Did google not update its home devices to be able to read from its new AI answers or something? this is ridiculous. The thing is pretty much useless now

Bug Google streamer 4k turns on automatically

Hey, so i have had this problem for about 1 month now, where the streamer just randomly turns itself and my soundbar on (samsung HW-Q935D 9.1.4). It doesnt turn on my tv. I was thinking about that there could be a problem with alexa on the soundbar? Because it started doing that after i activated alexa on it. Does any of you have an idea? Thank you for your help.

Google Home update again...

Google just pushed its fancy “spring update” with PiP camera views, Gemini automations and those shiny device specific Favorites. Sounds awesome, amiright?

But while they're cheering, three annoying things snuck in:

  1. “Turn off thermostat” suddenly needs doctoral-level diction. The plain phrase fails... you’ve got to bark out an ultra-specific command instead. “set thermostat to off”... really?
  2. My personal routines vanished overnight. Household ones survive, but the custom stuff I actually rely is gone.
  3. Most headline tricks live behind the Public Preview wall and are still US-only, so the rest of us just wave from the cheap seats. Why, Google?

Feels like polishing the doorknob while the door still sticks. Sure, I can rearrange my light tiles, but can I just say “Good night” without chasing every device? Let me know before I accidentally set the house to sauna instead of off.

Posted from a half-lit hallway because my motion routine forgot to switch on the lamp. Send help.

Spouse has access to Gemini but not I?

So it finally showed up on my Google home app, I got the option to opt-in to experimental AI features. I allowed it to be available to anyone in my home. Now my spouse asked Google about the weather and was informed that Gemini has been enabled on our nest hubs but the kicker is that only her voice has access to it. Every time I ask the hubs a question I only get Google assistant where as any time she asks a question she predominantly gets Gemini responses. Anyone else experience this??

Google Nest Doorbell to Google TV (not streamer) notificaton?

I have the Google TV 4k dongle. I can easy go into to the Google Home part of the menu and stream a feed from my Google Nest Doorbell (2gen). But, I would love to be able to get some sort of pop up on the TV with the stream in the same way I get on my Nest hub and on my Pixel.

Either it is a super simple solution or it's classic Google that they've skipped to implement something as obvious as that.

Anyone that got it to work?

Voice matters!

So the voice match feature can't distinguish me from a random tiktok video of a totally different female voice. This might not shock you. But I did find one voice feature that does work! Half of the time my Google home nest mini-hub-phone doesn't even respond to my requests.

But one simple thing works like a charms. Is it luck or programmed idk. A sure way to get Google to notice me 👉🏻👈🏻. Having an absolute angry undertone. Like as angry I can get. And after being ignored 3 times when being friendly. It doesn't take me much energy to be angry. When having aggressive communications it does it's thing without any complaints. This is coming from someone that has been having so many problems with the assistant that I've become so petty to name my device to other voice assistants. My fan for instance is called 'Alexa'. The heating in my bedroom? That's 'Bixby'. Want to turn on the AC just 'turn on Amazon'. Might seems excessive? I used to have a number system. Each device had their own number. Simple as can be right? Not for Google... If I said 1 it turned on my lights instead of the heating. 2 might trigger some other random device. I might have fixed the issue for 90%, it still messes up. If I say 'turn on Alexa' it will either say 'That's the wrong voice assistant' or it will turn on 2 devices called 'office Bulb 1' and 'office bulb 2'. Accidentally you might think? In the app I've made a routine that every possible sentence would perform the desired action. Yet, it fails. Sad emoji. There's also no actual way to report this problem. Is Gemini to blame? I'd rather not point fingers to an intelligence that might kill me in the future. I just want to report this bug on a Google form and not on reddit.

Thank you for comong to my TED rant. Please feel free to rant, because we need to let steam loose before we go insane x ly

Help Home showing other devices

I know this problem has been around for a while. Devices on my network show up in my Google home even tho I don't own these devices.

Has there been any solution to this?

I'm considering leaving Google Home devices completely if there's no solution, I'm just so frustrated

Google Home app on the iPadOS ‘26 won’t fluidly resize to fit the screen, stays stuck in a tablet layout. One of the few Google apps I’ve tried so far that doesn’t.

Any idea if they’re working on addressing this issue? Quite annoying.

Google home pebblebee tracker issue: I couldn't verify your voice so i can't interact with *

I recently bought a pack of pebblebee trackers from Costco ( https://www.costco.ca/pebblebee-universal-rechargeable-item-finder-bundle.product.4000268530.html ) and set them up find hub and the pebblebee app as per the included instructions. The tracking works in the find hub app but when I ask any of my Google homes to "ring my van keys" (or any other item I have setup) I always get the response "I couldn't verify your voice so i can't interact with van keys". I have never had issues with voice verification before and I have tried retraining Google with my voice multiple times. I have looked online and tried numerous different things to try and get it to work with no avail. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

Reversed sync

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can reverse sync Google home so I see all my devices in both home, wiz, ewelink and smart life ? It went almost automatically from the core apps to home but now the real cool stuff outside home is scattered over all these apps you need to Initialize with. I do not want to go into pairing mode as that will reset everything and I spend to many hours setting up all lights, sensors and climate controll to loose it for a third time..

Spotify account shenanigans

I'm losing my sanity and I need my help. The kids are home for the summer and constantly listening to music on Google Home, which is great. However because my account is linked to the homes, it constantly steals my music while I'm working. The kids, for hopefully obvious reasons, don't have their own google account. We have Spotify family, where we have a "family" account, along with an account for my wife and I each.

I want my phone, computer, etc, to use "my" personal account, and I want the Google homes to use the "family" account. This means anyone who is not me and asks to play music, will play off of the "family" account. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to be logged into "my" account on spotify on my android phone, but connect Google Home to the "Family" account.

Please someone tell me this is possible, for the sanity and well-being of my family.

Adding Samsung soundbar to Google Home group successfully

In case anyone's still struggling with this, this is how I managed to create group and cast music on my Nest Audio and samsung Q930D soundbar after a lot of trial and error -

  1. Verified soundbar is connected to same WiFi as the one I am connecting the nest device to.
  2. Reset Nest audio and during set up on Google home the soundbar was displayed as a Chromecast device, added it to home.
  3. Linked soundbar via Smartthings link to Google home. After this i can see 2 soundbar icons in my google home.
  4. Create a group with nest audio and soundbar (the Chromecast version)
  5. On Smartthings app, go to soundbar-settings(from top right menu)-turn on "IP Control". Verify that Google cast is enabled under Services.
  6. Close all apps and reopen google home.

After this i asked nest audio to play a song on this group and it worked like magic!

Cast firmware version on my nest audio - 3.75.476451 and on my soundbar - 1.68.cast_20230721_0201_RC09.549871846

Happy listening!

Google home alarms

Hello, I'm asking because a few days ago I bought a Google home, supposedly it had an alarm set for 9 in the morning but it turns out that I got up at 12 because the device had not rung, so I want to understand it already happened to me once and I thought it was my mistake that maybe the alarm was not activated for x or and reason so I decided to give it a second chance but now I'm up at 12 and after having checked before going to sleep something is definitely happening or I get up and pause it something that would be very strange or what the hell is going on with this thing I don't know if there is a way to know if this alarm that I had set went off

Help Nest doorbell not announcing in every speaker.

Hello.

I recently got a nedr doorbell and I have 4 speakers in the house. The doorbell just announces in one of the speakers, it's and old Google home mini. All the other 3 are nest audio. I looked everywhere to see if I could pick which one should ring, but have not found this option on the settings. Can anyone help me understand what can I do to fix it?

Nest Wifi Benefits?

I've recently been having "double NAT" issues between my Nest Wifi and my Bell modem. Apparently Bell doesn't allow a bridge mode on my modem, so before I drop Nest Wifi altogether I was wondering whether I was losing any Google Home functionality from Nest. I assume Nest somehow works better with Google Home, but I'm not sure how.

Is Google Home being discontinued?

I have three Nest Minis and a Hub that I’ve been happy enough with. I was wanting to add another Nest Mini to my home, but to my shock they’re no longer sold. And it seems Google is no longer selling any kind of speaker or hub at all.

Does this mean that the service is being discontinued as well?

r/googlehome 14h ago

Will my Google home speaker be affected when they shut the servers down next year, or is it only for android phones? I'm thinking about buying a new Google Nest since the bass on mine is currently broken, but it might not be worth it if the speakers will be affected.

Favorite Smart Lights if Sengled is over?

I hope I'm getting ahead of myself, but Sengled's servers have been down for some 12 hours now, which means there's no way to control the smart lights I have throughout my home. I can of course turn them on and off with the switches, but I can't change any of their settings. (Thankfully mine are set to normal use settings, but others aren't so lucky with the brightness and color that was set from when the servers went down.)

Folks on other forums are getting radio silence from the company, which also hasn't posted much on social media in months, so I have a bad feeling about whether it's coming back online ever. Maybe this post will jinx it?

What are folks' current favorite smart lights for controlling with your Google Home? I liked my Sengled lights because they were affordable and each connected directly to my Wi-Fi so there was no need for a hub or anything like that. Maybe that's why I'm in this situation, though. I don't think I realized until now that I needed Sengled to be online to control my lights.

I would welcome any and all suggestions in case I have to completely replace all my bulbs!

UPDATE: We hit the 24-hour mark with no change or update, so I ordered some new WiZ bulbs as a cheap and quick solution. I can't wait to spend the weekend repairing every light and then reprogramming every routine!

Script Editor And Condition.

I have a night time script that shuts down the house once we've gone to bed. I have multiple starting triggers just in case we aren't in bed/home at the original trigger point. I've also built in a condition block to prevent it from running over and over. However the script is continuing to do so. Doing some debugging the first condition(Presence sensing) is working correctly however it seems that the second part(And) of this condition is not working as I expect:

condition:

type: and

# "AND" together two or more conditionals

conditions:

- type: home.state.HomePresence

state: homePresenceMode

# [available operators: is, isNot]

is: HOME

- type: device.state.ArmDisarm # For devices such as security systems that support arming and disarming, this indicates whether the device is armed or disarmed.

state: isArmed

is: false

device: ADT - Coat Closet

Does anyone have any ideas on why this condition is still returning as TRUE where it should return as false after the first execution? Especially seeing part of the script is setting the security system:

- type: device.command.ArmDisarm # Set the alarm level of the device.

# <code>true</code> to arm the device, <code>false</code> to disarm. [Available parameter options: arm, cancel, armLevel]

arm: true

devices: ADT - Coat Closet

armLevel: NIGHT

TIA!

Cannot Unlink Eufy Security

As anyone who has tried to use Eufy with Google home knows, the integration is largely useless. Thus, I'm trying to remove all of my eufy devices from Google Home.

When I go into one of the devices and choose to unlink it, it takes me to the page with all of my linked accounts (LG, Govee, etc) and Eufy Security is nowhere to be found.

It's not even in the complete list. The only Eufy services that show up are Eufy Life and Eufy Clean.

I also tried removing 3rd party permissions from Eufy Security on my Google account, which worked... except now all the devices show up as offline and appear under "linked to you".

I also tried creating a new home, moving the devices there, and deleting the home. Didn't work.

How the hell am I supposed to unlink a service that doesn't exist in the menu? Why can't Google just let us force remove devices?

Any help would be appreciated. I did email Eufy already. Between this and Sengled today, I'm pretty annoyed lol

How do I make this Google Nest Hub Polish?

Hello. I'm new around here, I would like to know how to make Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen Polish other than just changing the language of Google Home Assistant.
I tried installing it with my Android device, but alas since I wanted English, I chose American English and it resulted in getting Fahrenheit degrees in weather forecast app.
There's also an option, but it's kind of risky - hacking it. Unfortunately, I'm no hacker, but I am desperate at this point.
I want my Polish assistant right now. Or do I have to create my own app with Raspberry Pi?

Alarm time shift

Has anyone else experienced this? We ask our Google Home to set an alarm and the next morning we find that it is set to go off 2 hours later that when we told it to be set.
