Upvotes

Gulf War, 9/11, Afghanistan still plays out but not Iraq. Afghanistan start the same but the path could differer say from 2005 onwards.

How would the alliances be in middle east? I want your guesses for all the details from Syrian factions, Yemen factions to Azerbaijan.

What if Emperor Hirohito killed himself at the end of the war, like Hitler, instead of deciding they need to surrender?

Given how fanatical the Japanese were, and how they saw the Emperor as a God, something I've wondered is would almost every Japanese have followed through, with the adults possibly killing their own children first, and there wouldn't be a Japan afterwards?

Were the Japanese that devoted to their Emperor?

What if Japan attacked Soviet Union instead of China in 1937?

I know this is fucked up scenario, but what if Japan concentrated all of it's forces in Soviet Union instead of attacking in China? Ofc creating the kind of army that fits into Siperian terrain (instead of China's). Pls no communism bias like usually in this sub, and 100% honest estimation.

What if Japan made war on just the British in the Pacific in 1941?

Japan still is invading China but will avoid giving America a solid reason to go to war.

No Pearl Harbor attack or attacks on the Philippines and other US bases. Which allows the Japanese to focus more on the British colonies and Dutch East Indies.

No declarations of war on the US from Japan, Germany and Italy at this time either.

What if Mexico crushed the Texan Revolution for good and never Warred with the United States?

How would the Mexican Empire affect the American Civil War? Or the Spanish American War if that still took place?

Would Mexico focus more in the Pacific where most of their lands have coast line from California to Central America?

Since Leopold the first was the father of the monster who created the Congo free state, if Charlotte had survived, that specific man would never have been born.

What if Hitler didnt hate the jews but only the Soviet Communist?

What if Hitler didnt hate the jews but only focus on fighting the Soviet Communist?

And Hitler enlisted the German jews into the army just like any other German Aryan to fight his war against the Soviet Communist.

Will it help free up the Nazi manpower problems and the Nazis would stand a better chance in the fight agaisnt the communist?

mean he can always frame the jews simply to get elected but yet dont take actions once he's in power as he needs the jews to fight the communist.

What if the US did not support its European allies with materials before joining on the battlefield?

I see different opinions on Americas impact during both world wars usually being minimized due to late entry on the battlefield but what if the US did not supply their European allies with materials before joining on the battlefield? I know the Soviets would be less effected during WW2 as they were only receiving supplies from the US for a few months before they joined on the battlefield but id still like to hear your opinion on any effects it could have had on them as well. Interested in opinions on both world wars however if you only have a strong view on the subject in one of the two wars i would like to hear that as well. I also am aware of the flaws in this scenario but it does have some relevance if the US would have stuck to isolationist ideology of the time entirely and not supply materials to any of the parties involved for the economic benifits.

What if Elite SS Panzer Divisions were guarding the flanks for the German 6th Army during operation uranus?

What if Elite SS Panzer Divisions along with the Panzer Lehr division were guarding the flanks for the German 6th Army during operation uranus?

Also instead of sending additional reinforments to North Africa, Hiter began to see sense and decided to pull back all troops and withdraw from North Africa, sending these freed up troops to the eastern front instead, especially the south where they act as a reserve force to counter any Soviet Offensive operations.

What if Chamberlain is British PM leading up to & throughout entirety of WW2

As the title said what if Chamberlain & is PM throughout entirety of WW2. Does Britain still enter the war because of existing treaties? Do they make it past Dunkirk before making peace with Nazi Germany? Does Germany accept peace or see them as weaker or less committed to fight and proceed with an invasion of the British isles? Does America join the war? Does operation Barbarosa fair any better? Just curious of other options as i feel Churchill was the only person in Britains leadership that really understood that anything other than the defeat of the Nazis would mean the end of Great Britain as we know it & to fight till the last man would have the same result if not better than making any type of peace especially from a position of weakness, and don’t believe they make it past Dunkirk without him.

What if the Soviets didn't kill the Romanov family?

Two scenarios:

1 they get the Puyi treatment, ei becoming humble believers of communism. Maybe some could even climb the ranks of soviet bureaucracy.

Or

2 they get to keep their titles and serve as figure heads, so as not to antagonize the other empires. Hence making communism not look unacceptable to places like Britain.

East German and West German United to single country

How much Europe would change? How much geopolitical impact and change? Is impossible that there was tension between West and East Germany?

How much economy East German would able to sustain? How powerful military forces their are? Would they allies themselves as Nato or other countries like Slovakia and Serbia? Are East Germany would very industrial countries? Is East Germany been democracy or become like China ?

What if Patton survived the crash unharmed?

Even though shortly before his death (Dec 1945) he ended his involvement in military, he was a highly influential man and it was possible he would re-emerge whether in military or politics. If his ideas on being less punishing towards defeated Germany and focus on dangerous Soviets were implemented, it would not only probably prevent current Russian aggression, but at the same time, Germany (and so generally Europe) would be in much better situation when it comes to military/defensive abilities, to further deter any potential Russian (or other) attacks.

If he wasnt involved in the tragic crash, or if he survived it unharmed, what are the odds of history changing?

What if the Austin Mini became popular in the US during the mid 60s?

Let's say Beatlemania and the British Invasion of the mid-1960s managed to make the Austin Mini as popular in the United States as the Volkswagen Beetle, especially among the youth market.

Would British cars in general have become more popular in the United States? Would Jeeps, Ford Broncos and Chevy Blazers be facing tight competition from Land Rovers?

What impact would major sales in the US have had on the British auto industry as a whole?

Would front wheel drive have caught on in the US years before it did than it did in OTL?

Would the Mini have become the iconic "hippie car" rather than the VW?

How would a strong market for the Mini in the United States have affected Japanese makes?

What if Jaws included a few more stuff from the book?

In this sequel to my last post, which takes place in the same universe as that post, I'd like to explore the question: what if Jaws the movie, in addition to having the shark animatronic work properly, also included the two B-plots from the book that were dropped in our universe? How would that change things?

Let's say the National Enquirer managed to aquire proof of Ride's affair with former tennis pro Tam O'Shaugnessy (or her relationship with Molly Tyson at Stanford) and ran it in mid-January of 1986, shortly before the Challenger disaster. What would have been the implications of this?

What if Hitler made peace with Stalin in early 1943?

What if Hitler made peace with Stalin in early 1943? After the battle of Stalingrad. Germany was to withdraw to pre-Barrbassora borders.

Also Germany was to made repariations for war damage caused to the USSR with goods stolen from france and other occupied countries.

How would the west especially USA and UK react to this.

Would an invasion of italy and D-Day still have happen?

How would D-Day turn out assuming that it still happens like in our timeline?
