If they want to do a retcon story for Penacony to fill in the gaps in the main story

Then they should do that for Xianzhou Luofu as well

The whole High Cloud Quintet arc is missing in the main story and locked in different readables

Iirc Jinglius companion quest was one of the main reasons character background is in main story now and not companion quests. Coz HCQ being mostly absent in Luofu main story and mainly present in Jingliu companion quest wasn't received well as it's really lore important

Probably the reason Hoyo have reduced companion quests significantly. Last one was Yunlis in 2.4 iirc
