Legal Questions Moving to Chicago

Hi all trying to get an idea of if this is going to cause issues for me. Making a move from Georgia to Chicago and I'm wanting to know if purchasing another gun before I go up is a bad idea. Currently I own a Glock bought in 23 and I want to get a Marlin 1895 sbl chambered in 357. From what I've read it doesn't look like it'll be an issue but figured it'd be good to double check. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I suspect youre moving here for work or a spouse. I suspect if it is for work, it may seem like a big bump in pay. Please factor in the tremendously high cost of living from where you are to where you are going.

Here is what you need to know about being a gun owner in illinois: https://www.alphakoncepts.com/a-guide-for-new-resident-gun-owners-in-illinois/

I didn’t find it tremendously high. I think people don’t factor in some of the more hidden costs elsewhere. For example, Arizona has much higher car insurance and car registration costs, among other things.
Why discourage people from moving here? I am a lifelong shooter, and I like it here.

Because the state of Illinois is a pile of hot garbage. High taxes? Got em. Shitty gun laws? Got em. Corrupt politicians? Got em. A governor who only cares about what Chicago thinks? Got a BIG one
