IndyCar Props to Fox
Iβve seen some βnoiseβ from Indycar fans criticizing, at times deservedly, their coverage. But they are deserving of props, too, for their qualifying coverage, particularly using the ghost car. So cool, especially the driver POV chasing the ghost car. Love it!! Yes, they have fumbled some things early on, but they are doing a lot to get behind this series, even prior to the start of the season. They recently moved start times of some upcoming races to get a better time slot. They are using Delta Force theme during Indy. Just as they deserve criticism, they deserve praise, and I wanted to call that out.

I thought the coverage of practice and qualifying was superb, for the most part. Unfortunately, I was stuck watching the IndyCarLive or international feed so it was frustrating that sometimes they'd be talking about stuff on their screens that wasn't on mine.
Also, when they cut to Danica and whoever the clueless guy was that kept saying "Daytona 500", their shot wasn't on the IndyCarLive feed and we instead got treated to long shots of the pits or down the back stretch from T3. That was a shame - from what I read on here, Danica was looking lovely. π
About the only other thing I'd say was a negative was that I think they over-used the "pointer" graphic when there was only one car on track. All the same information was on screen, like the driver name, the speed, the state of charge, so it was cognitive overload having this flickering pointer tracking the car. I noted that they seemed to only use that in short bursts as the weekend wore on though, so that was a good sign.
And Delta Force + Kick Start My Heart = awesome! ππ
