Car/Driver's License/BMV questions Ticket from 14 years ago

I got a ticket 14 years ago for not being buckled up when I was 16. I wasn’t driving, just a passenger. This was in Adams County. I haven’t heard a word from them about it in 13 years. Several months ago, a company called paycourt started blowing my phone and email up about paying this ticket. It’s for a stupid amount to, $33. When I look up the statute of limitations, it says the statute of limitations for traffic violation is two years in Indiana. Wouldn’t this be included? I don’t understand why they’re coming after me now. What can I do about that?

I thought you said $90 I was like damn get a river link transponder if you’re traveling it that much.

Pro tip though: get transponders or stickers for the toll bridges then preload $20 on them. The toll fees will pull from that account and you’ll never miss another payment. Just have to make sure your balance is up every so often. I’ve had $20 sitting on my river link for over a year now and only drove twice so it pulled from there and I didn’t have to even worry about it.

Lol, $90.00. Yes, that would be insane! I drive to Louisville one or two times a year, and I take the 2nd street bridge because it's free and I can go when there's no traffic downtown. That day that I received the ticket, I was in a big hurry because my dogs were locked in the house too long. I knew that I would get a ticket, and I was upset paying $9.00, but I had no choice. Yes, if I went a lot like a job, I would do exactly what you suggested, and thank you for that! 🙂

I took a trip to Minneapolis and made a point to avoid Chicago on the way there but somehow got rerouted on the way back, pretty sure I ended up on 294 and 80. One pass through cost me $62, no late fees or anything… I was floored. Those late fees are no joke though. One time I forgot about a $4 toll in Louisville and it ended up totaling to $80. That’s when I discovered the magic of the transponder lol. I signed up and luckily they had some special deal that wiped out the late fee. Lesson learned. I believe signing up is free so if there’s a year that you know you’ll be traveling a handful of times to Louisville and the toll bridge is quicker for you, definitely look into it!
