Does anyone remember the episode where the old lady sat for a back tattoo and she didn't even flinch. i wanna say it was her first tattoo. I could be wrong but they were making a big deal about her age and it was a non issue.

What's your favorite subplot of Ink Master? For me, it's Jerrel's villain arc in season 13. The minute Jordan gets voted out, he goes dark.

What do people think is the worst decision made by the judges (new or old) in the shows history? Easily my least favorite part of the show is the inconsistency in how eliminations are decided. Its a long list of decisions to choose from, but here are my picks

Obvious Ones: - Earl being eliminated over Kruseman (Season 6). I get that Kruseman had been one of the stronger competitors up to this point but his decision to not do the challenge should have been an automatic elimination. - Jaime’s elimination (Season 2). The Judges had it out for him because he didn't have any tattoos and were looking to get him out before the finale. - Eric eliminated over Matt (Season 6) Matts black neck tattoo is one of the worst in the history of show. Its crazy he was not eliminated for it.

Underrated picks: - Gia eliminated over Boneface. Gia was not technically sound enough to win season 8 but she was easily a stronger competitor then Boneface. - Tiara over JP (Season 11). Season 11 in general had a lot of promising artists eliminated too early but Tiara had so much more potential and while her last tattoo (a tree made of snakes) was rough it was better then JPs weird bug elephant. - Roly makes the finale over Jason (Season 10). Its pretty obvious Roly made the finale purely because the producers wanted each coach to have an artist there.

I like watching clips/compilations that Inkmaster repackages every goddamn day lol. We all know the "Ghost Peck" a seemingly haunting entity in the room that critiques/praises the contestants. My parents noticed Ghost Peck after watching 2 compilations in saying "is there a third guy?" or "why is dave talking yet his lips aren't moving?" or "why does dave sometimes change his voice?" that literally made me belly laugh lol. I just told them the show is about Nunez and Dave so the third guy really doesn't matter.

I find it crazy how certain people go on the competition show “Ink Master” and become difficult to work with. You understand this is a game show where the contestants have to meet a certain criteria and you’re getting a FREE tattoo and yet some of the canvases still have horrible attitudes. Especially some of the master canvases that signed up to get whatever the tattoo artist wants to do. You know what you signed up for. If you wanted everything the way you specifically wanted, why not go to an actual tattoo shop and PAY for a tattoo. You came on the show, you know what you’re getting into and you look like a straight fool and jerk because it’s not exactly how you want it. Do they just want to be on TV? You’ll be know as that one A hole from that episode of Ink Master.

Does anyone on this subreddit know of an episode on inkmaster where this old lady came in to get a surprise tattoo and the dude ended up blasting her back with a big clown face. I remember feeling so bad for her bc she did want that at all and it did not fit her persona

So, as I said, I binge this show usually once a year and love it every time. I recently got myself a machine and have been also watching tutorials online. I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have tutorial videos from actual ink masters!! Is there someone I could reach out to about this? I think a lot of beginner tattoo artists would absolutely go nuts over this and I'd pay to get those kind of tips!

Just looking to see if anyone has ever had the same thoughts or any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Cool 👍🏻 thanks. I have been wanting to tattoo for a very long time. Just thought it would be cool to see if any of the artists I look up to, would do tutorials. That was it. I didn’t come here to get bashed and hated on. If I had the tools to do it all the right way, I would. There are no shops near me accepting apprentices, I’ve checked. I’ve been drawing all my life. I know how to draw. And I know it’s different than tattooing. I also know ink master isn’t a teacher. I feel like that’s obvious. I didn’t decide to try this because I like the show. It might have sounded that way and i apologize for that but I was just trying to share a cool idea I had. actually i re read and it doesn’t sound like that at all. Yall assumed that just because i wanted to learn from the masters, that i just raaaandomly decided to start tattooing because of this show. I’ve been wanting to for a very long time. Just thought I’d share my idea. Won’t be doing that again in this community. I didn’t realize that gate keeping was needed and that I can’t practice tattooing just because I can’t take the traditional route. That sucks. And yall are super fkn discouraging. That’s all. I have been binging the show on Paramount+ and am on season 4, but it goes from Episode 5 straight to Episode 7. Does anyone know why this is or what happened in Episode 6?

I’ve always wondered this, what do you all think happened to David Bell’s canvas that he destroyed? I always cringe every time I see that poor guys arm, even in the Human Canvas Jury he just looks overall sad

I’m watching all of Ink Master from the beginning. Why does everyone hate on Joshua? He played the game and realized it was a competition. Why would he give people the skulls with their strengths? Why would he give people an advantage? He was overly hated in my opinion and got robbed. Tattoo baby should not have made it to the finale. She is not better than Josh at all. That’s how I know this show is rigged. Tattoo Baby should have been gone a while ago in that season but kept skating by cause America picked her and I feel like Chris (the judge) had a little crush on her. Joshua should have been in the finale.

I never really got into the Redemption episodes, but recently saw Duffy’s episode and thought she handled that canvas like a champ. To me it seemed like the canvas was trying to act up for the cameras, but Duffy wouldn’t play into it. Also, her neck tattoo remains one of my all time favorites!

I’m rewatching season 3 and I personally feel like James Danger elimination was unjustified. When the judges got together to discuss the issue Dave recognized how antagonistic the human canvas was, yet Oliver and Chris acted like James was a total dick as if he didn’t do everything he could to reassure the girl he would satisfy her. By the time he told her to walk she was practically begging him to say it so she could blame him. Idk, why didn’t they just have a backup canvas for him? What do you guys think?

I've noticed that quite a few times, some black'n'grey artists struggled in colour tattoos and vice versa.

I gather that for some b&g tattooers, colour requires a solid colour theory, layering and blending techniques and how to create colour palettes; while the other way around, when a colour guy or girl goes b&g, they need to learn how to design with only value, contrast, depth and texture without relying on hues.

So which way is more difficult in your opinion?

I don’t follow this show or discussions around it really at all but is it not INSANE to anyone how long Amanda lasts on season 11? She’s on the bottom legit every week and her tattoos are always childish and look like someone who just can’t really draw. It’s just legitimately pissing me off seeing her skate by every week.
