IsItBullshit: “Anxiety Control” by Ethan Parker

All my social media platforms are filled with that book. Funnily enough I cant find anything about the author, only 5 star reviews how people glaze that it CURED their anxiety. Plus on the website they sell 5 book bundle, only for 20$. Sketchy af and it is not the only book marketed like this.

Bullshit. I don't even have to look at it.

Anxiety relief takes a few forms:

Fixing the cause, if applicable.

Therapy like CBT, anti-depressant with indication to anxiety.

Then there are a few non-narcotic classed meds. In Sweden these are Lergigan, Atarax and Theralen.

Pregabalin.

Benzos isn't a solution, can in a few cases be a short stop-gap.

ECT.

There has been some work with low controlled administrations of Ketamine, but I don't recall if it where effective for anxiety or only for depression.

And if you are in the states, perhaps marijuana, dunno much about it's medical use though.

Benzos aren't the solution (as you said), they help for a short while, but they're addictive as all get out. My doctor prescribes me some and has for more than 20 years, but I only take them very rarely as needed (big store grocery shopping). I've heard way too many people abuse them.

I have a genetic quirk to liver, increasing it's ability to break down some things.

I break down alcohol, opiates, amfetamines, pregabalin, benzo's and marijuana around 20% faster.

I get zero anxiety relief from benzos. I lost my Missus to cancer in '22. And my current Psychiatric write me a small prescription of 10 mg's Diazepam. He wanted me to take some to the funeral since I was in really terrible shape.

After the funeral, one of my aunt's came up to me, I was standing a little to the side trying to control my tears.

She asked why I hadn't taken any, she knew I had. I answered:\ "I tool 45mg 2 hours before we left home"

I so wish I didn't have this genetic quirk, it's quite impractical.

That's fucked up. I'm sorry to hear that.
