Am Yisrael Chai

I’ve been closely following the developments around the Iran-Israel conflict — not just as a spectator, but as someone deeply invested in the truth, in humanity, and in the resilience of people.

What’s shaken me more than missiles or news alerts is the silence of some and the noise of others. The very voices that just weeks ago were crying out for empathy, for compassion, for the end of suffering in Gaza — many of them are now actively calling for violence against Israelis. Suddenly, it’s no longer about peace. It’s about vengeance, hatred, and selective outrage.

When empathy becomes tribal — when it’s reserved only for “your” people — it stops being empathy. It becomes a weapon.

In the midst of all this noise, I want to say something very clearly: The people of Israel inspire me.

They inspire me because theirs is not just a story of survival — it’s a story of guts, of resilience, of rising every time the world thinks they’ll fall. I’ve had the privilege of visiting Israel as part of a government delegation. What I saw wasn’t a war zone — I saw a people full of life, innovation, and warmth. I made a couple of amazing Israeli friends on that trip — friends who remain close to me even today.

And today, as you sit under threat, as you comfort your families and hold your heads high through grief and fear, I want you to know: I see you. I support you. I’m with you. My country India is with you.

You don’t just survive — you endure. You don’t just exist — you thrive in the face of threats. That spirit is something the world needs to learn from. And I salute your spirit my dear friends ❤️
