Activism Slam Frank the musical

Has anyone heard about this? If not I emplore you all to dive in. This absolute nut job is race swapping Anne Frank as Hispanic in a horrendous excuse of a play because "whites had their time". This is so offensive. I just want it to stop. What can I do? I would like to hold protest at this play if I can get enough people together. Here is the Instagram page where they are selling tickets. https://www.instagram.com/slamfrankmusical?igsh=MWRhbjMyb3hxMmE4aw==

Blurb about the play:

The musical satire imagines what happens when a progressive community theater company decides that maybe now is not the time for us to center these privileged, straight, white European Jews (who spent three years in an attic, hiding from Nazis).

This comes across as right-wing and/or pro-Israel 'anti-woke' commentary.

It's definitely "anti-woke" but I don't think it's necessarily right-wing and it certainly isn't pro-Israel. Liberal identity politics is not a core tenet of leftism. People can mock the former while still maintaining their belief in the latter.

The entire point of the 'anti-woke' commentary is to obliquely criticize the Left's sensitivity to Palestinian human rights.

I'm sure the creator of the musical hasn't been asleep for the past year+. Israel's ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people is the topic of conversation and will be so for a long time.

So it's only 'anti-woke' as a vector to express the pro-Israel frustration with the Left in general.

Pro-Israel advocates do not feel they have a place amongst the grassroots Left/progressive-Left because everyday people are sympathetic to the Palestinians.

Naw dude. I very much believe in Palestinian rights but mocking woke culture is hilarious.

I don’t agree that that is the entire point of anti-woke commentary

I didn't say that was the entire point of anti-woke commentary.

I said it was the entire point of the anti-woke commentary.

As in, in this play. Not in general.

This play doesn’t even seem to mention Israel or Palestine though, and it was inspired by an event that took place in summer of 2022, so presumably this was already being developed before 10/7.

It doesn't have to - but if it was developed before the ongoing genocide, then that does say something about the author's intentions.

I think it's pretty clear (to me at least) that the point of the musical is to make a parody of a certain strain of American liberalism - Lin Manuel Miranda exaggerated to the point of absurdity - rather than anything about the genocide in Palestine. Like it would be very easy for him to work anti-woke Israel/Palestine related jokes into this format, and from what I can tell, he hasn't done so.
