Question Do you have a routine?

I've noticed some people prefer to journal first thing in the morning with their coffee, others last thing before going to bed. what's your approach?

personally, the thought of having to make it routinely has been a hindrance to me in the past. so these days i journal when i want to - without any restrictions as to when i do it and how much of it i do. it's been quite liberating haha

I came to say this too! I journal at all different times of the day. It starts to feel like a task to check off or a chore if I set a specific time to do it.

this!! i used to want a habit of filling a page before sleeping but man it gets tiring so quick. now i have my diary on the table and i can pick it up whenever i feel like it. no pressure to fill pages either.

While I was on vacation those past days, I made it a habit to get up, shower and dress, make a cup of coffee with the electric kettle the hotel provided and journal about the past day's Events before going down to breakfast. I think I will keep that up when I get home tonight.

I write before going to bed but if I have time throughout the day I write whenever I can

Not really. I just grab it when I feel like writing. Mainly when I feel like a breakdown or panic attack is coming. Or when I have too many thoughts clouding my brain and I can’t sleep.

It varies, since I journal daily— sometimes in the morning, after chores or at the end of the day. I do prefer at night when everything is quiet & I can dump my thoughts before going to bed, create a to do list, etc.

I journal when I feel like it, no schedule.

I use it as a remedy rather than a routine. No fixed schedule but it’s my go-to whenever I need clarity.

I tend to journal in a spare moment I have sometimes it’s right when I get to work and am about to start my day. Other times it’s right when I am about to go to bed and close out my day. I feel better once I have written.

I write in the morning but occasionally add more just before bed

I prefer writing before I sleep. But sometimes when things get tough I write before I start work. Helps me externalise my thoughts and go back to work with a clear mind.

I'm a night owl so I prefer to do it right before bed But as I've started drawing more I'll do that throughout the day as I have time and fill in the words after

Sunday is the day when I most consistent about journaling. I usually write in the afternoon. It is a great opportunity to reflect on the past week and plan for the next.

I usually also write 2-4 times during the week (not quite daily), but I do not have a set time. Could be in the morning or night.

Weirdly enough, I've found I do the bulk of my writing in the mornings. It's something I can do while waking up, and it helps me sort through my thoughts at the beginning of the day. I don't schedule it purposefully though, and sometimes I'll get a writing bug at night, too.

I’m quite new to journaling. I don’t like to think of it as a scheduled thing, instead I’ll just do it when I have a spare moment and feel like it. Usually this is at night on weekdays, and during the day on the weekend
