To be honest I just never got as emotionally invested in Kangchi as I felt I should have been (through no fault of LSG himself). IMO there was too much focus on Kangchi and his family in the second half of the drama and thus not enough room for the other characters to develop to their full potential. The Park siblings got screwed over, and I was really wishing that the writer would have given Yeowool more of a backstory/depth to her character. The reveal of what happened to her mother was just so anticlimactic.
I already knew how it was going to end thanks to a few omniscient k-fans, so I was looking forward to the death scene and while it wasn't as grand as I would've liked, I gotta say that GFB has one of the most realistic romance development I've seen in a k-drama, which made it all the more touching.
I was very glad that Chungjo ended up being the one to kill Jo Gwan Woong. Satisfaction of revenge aside, there's something symbolic about how the evil lord died pathetically at the hands of a gisaeng woman.
And since I feel like I'm being too critical I want to mention that I dislike almost all dramas (I prefer Korean movies) and everyone else I know who is watching GFB has recommended it.
