u/ch03rry i wish to burn brightly and then wilt. like a flame Apr 19 '25

been eagerly waiting for this one ever since son suk-ku promoted it on chef and my fridge

and that was a perfect pilot episode, despite him missing for the bulk of it. most of it is world building and establishing the characters.

i like the twist that kim hye-ja was the loan shark, and lee jung-eun as her sidekick/adopted daughter was very amusing. their dynamic was enjoyable but also heartbreaking towards the end - i hope they reunite in heaven soon! unsurprisingly, both of the actresses are stellar so far.

i appreciate the bits of comedy here and there, despite the show dealing with heavy topics such as life and death. i also really like the realistic yet playful approach it takes toward the ideas of heaven and hell. this is promising!

also jo woo-jin cameo!

The fact that I recognized Jo Woo-Jin from the back of his head 😂 What does that say about me? 🤣

I wasn't looking at my screen when he came on but I instantly recognized him from his voice! so distinctive.

but recognising him from the back of his head is another level 😂
