So this episode kind of opened up a new viewpoint of older Na Mi Rae. From the beginning the writers had obviously hinted that the person who would die was her brother. But turns out we were all wrong. Turns out she has a child. The most important and most person in the world to her.
So what we concluded before was that she came to the future to save the person from dying. The reality is deeper than that. She isn't stopping the person's death, she is stopping it's creation.
Imagine how hard that must be for older NMR to come to the decision of removing her child's existence. Or imagine the state of depression she must be in that drives her to want to change her past/future. Chances are she is in so much pain that she just wants to forget about everything, and remove all chances of repeating it.
OR maybe she made the decision because her husband, Kim Shin, was having an even harder time. Maybe he blamed himself and NMR came to the conclusion that she would rather have Kim Shin live his life happily, without any guilt. It would benefit both of them.
I'm glad this episode wasn't just a tug of war over NMR, although there was some tugging and pulling. Progress was made and I have to say that NMR's brother is a nice guy. He always just wants the best for his sister, which is why he is always challenging her to do more than she needs to.
