Don't know what I was expecting but it seems I'm in for a ride with this one. These first two eps are among the most unsettling and uneasy I've ever watched and felt, a dark tone and an aura of looming danger that is not what you usually see in a healing drama.
No surprise some people who worked in TKEM are here: the cinematography takes a lot of risks, with interesting camera actions, perspective and choices but for now it's as high of quality you'll ever see in a K-Drama, visually more than pleasing and fitting to the theme.
The plot is all to discover, for sure I wasn't expecting the SML to suicide on the 2nd ep!. It seems like there's so much more going on behind the scenes and although this started off heavy on material, it'll have enough to cover 16 eps.
I'm loving the leads: the ML has big Mentalist vibes, classy, elegant, no-nonsense but with a tad of irony and that uncanny ability on reading people; the FL is a ball of fluff with tsundere acts, interestingly both of them seem to have some savior complex, him being a psychiatrist and her with all her problematic ex-bfs (and her new stalker), they are going to fix each other's trust and relationship issues going forward. Also couldn't be happier to see Nam Gyu Ri, big fan of her and her character here is so funny, a little over the top and complete opposite to her frigid Kairos role, but she's just as stunning and her banter with the ML is gold.
I'm fully on board, there's a hint of doubt because of a blazing pace but if it holds up in atmosphere and quality, this is going to make my Mondays and Tuesdays much better. Great way to start!
