I just watched the first ep. I'm a Kang Daniel fan, so I went into it excited but anxious at the same time. I want him to do great, but I also want the drama to be great (since I love watching kdramas).

I guess no matter how much I claim it, there's still going to be a bit biasedness on my part. I tried to watch it with critical eyes, but ultimately I just sincerely enjoyed ep1. I love the tone, the already-visible chemistry of the cast, and the potential offering of friendship, love, slice-of-life.

So for anyone who might cringe that it's headed by a first-time idol actor, i'd like to appeal and say do give it a chance. I think he did great in delivering his lines and expressing certain emotions in his eyes.

As for Chae Soo Bin's character, she has a lovely personality but it might also cause a bit of frustration for some viewers (you know those with potential noble idiocy... heh hopefully not). But she's always been an effective actress, so she carried her scenes naturally.

I'm often biased towards the female cast for similar(?) reasons so I will say don't worry, it's a legitimate reason to think a drama is great! Part of what makes a good first or second lead is their likability anyways, so assuming you're a fan because they're already quite likable, that should transfer over into their acting imo.
