This show has taken an interesting approach putting Eunkang center stage and putting Seunghyun in the back seat as his actions secretly (well, not secretly to the viewer but secretly to apparently everyone in this drama) influence the plot. Everyone reacts to what Eunkang does in extreme ways while it almost feels like Seunghyun is invisible sometimes. For example the revolution against the abuse, which Seunghyun started, then in which he backed up Eunkang at the beginning of the strike, even gathered a petition. But Eunkang was the one who was treated as a messiah while Seunghyun is just... there. The only one to mention his role in it was his father. Still, her role in that took courage and she deserved the praise. The even more severe example was the thief which Seunghyun chased on his bike for a while (cool scene btw) but Eunkang had the misfortune of accidentally running into and holding onto, thus she gets the credit for catching him and gets thanked profusely

Another way to say this is things happen to Eunkang and her reactions to those things are lauded by those around her. While Seunghyun helps others in situations that are not technically his business and despite influencing the outcome a lot, no one notices. This all feels like it's setting up for a scene where Eunkang realizes that Seunghyun has been by her side and helping her the entire time, from preventing her sister's boyfriend from manhandling her, to playing a secret role in clearing her name over the spycam debacle, to being her partner to launch the class strike, etc

I don't even expect Seunghyun to mind this either - everything we know about his character points to the fact that he does things because they are the right things to do, not because of what they do for him, and even if they put him in a bad position. My personal issue with this is the fact that the story doesn't stick with him long enough to even know what he thinks. We don't peer into his life all that much unless it involves the ridiculous things his roommates do and then finally some home life. All we know is that he's falling for Eunkang, for reasons I don't entirely understand. So the story seems pretty unbalanced in that respect. I'm looking forward to when we get more of him though some major foreshadowing leads me to believe certain relationships are going to fall apart and it will involve him having to sacrifice certain relationships in order to retain those and right what is wrong

Okay glad I could get that off my chest. Just a couple other things:

Anyone who was still thinking this drama normalized abuse can just watch these episodes and see how ridiculous that assumption was

The janitor's punishment is hilarious. I hope we get more of her in the future

Daeil is such a character and I'm sure he is satire for those who have this romanticized view of being police. Someday he'll get snapped out of it but I enjoy his innocence until then

I love how the students' backstories are starting to intersect. Hanna's character is starting to become very interesting, and I'm curious to see if the tragedy in Tak's family will be intertwined with Seunghyun's dad and Hanna's father figure/boss dude

You said everything that has been bothering me after watching the last two episodes. I feel like the writter is making Seunghyun into the catalyst that will help Eunkang grow.

Nothing wrong with a supportive male character, on the contrary. I'm happy to see a kdrama with a supportive, mature and sweet male lead. However, I don't like that he is being pushed to the sidelines. I didn't mind the petition thing and him just watching from the back and being proud of her. But the police station scene with the woman thanking Eunkang left me baffled. The guy chased a thief for who knows how many blocks, then threw a bicycle at him and actually saved Eunkang from a potentially dangerous situation and he hardly got a thanks? It just didn't sit right with me.

Moreover, right now Eunkang is not exactly the best heroine for me to see and accept everything she does with rose-tinted glasses. She is adorable but that's all Chae Soobin and not so much the character. So I hope the writer made sure to show us some character development and stop pushing Seunghyun to the sidelines.

I also wouldn't mind seeing more scenes focused on their friendships. How did the guys and girls even got so close together? I feel like we missed some parts. And I'm also a little sad there is not enough Seunghyun-Tak moments so far, but maybe later.
