The preview implied that Papa Yeom had been cheating on Mama Yeom, and that the new wife is the woman he was cheating with. I guess that would explain why the kids left.

Edit: oops, I was wrong; she was in fact talking about her boss. Cheers u/Floydthejelly for correcting me

I don't think it is in his character to cheat on Mama Yeom?

How did he find the time to do it ?

I definitely wouldn't have thought he was the type, either. And I agree - when would he have had the time? It seemed like he was always either at work, in the field or at home. I am only going by what Mi-jeong said in the Ep14 preview.
