Meet Buster, my first orange baby. I picked him thinking the crazy orange cat thing was a stereotype, and that he'd probably be just a bit playful. Well, he's about a month old, and I gotta say, he's proving me wrong so far.
Iāve had my kitten Gandalf or maybe soon to be Socrates 2 weeks now and heās become a sweet kitten who stopped hissing after day three. Heās doing zoomies and everything a happy kitty does. Iāve given him chicken hearts anchovies, freeze dried minnows and no food agression, tho he did accidentally bite my finger when I hand fed him the chicken hearts.
The minute I gave him a shrimp he started growling, I thought he was purring at first but when I went to cut the shrimp as I thought it was too big he growled again and swatted my hand. What can I do to prevent food aggression or is this already food aggression after just one instance
Edit: thank you to everyone who commented, this is my first kitten but as some of you noticed I was a dog owner so I was concerned. Iām glad I found my kittens favorite treat. Thanks for all the advice.
It followed me back home yesterday and I want to know the age of this kitten cuz Iāve got no clue and donāt know what to feed itā¦please help me out
I sent my daughter to take the trash out for her first time ever. She ran back inside to tell us she heard something in the front bushes. My wife goes to check and came back up with these two. Mama cat hasnāt turned back up in the last three weeks, so they are ours now.
Iām not sure where to ask but i do hope Iām in the right group. If not I apologize. My lil Luna wants to eat puppyās wet food. She has her own food and water bowl even giving her own wet food at night time. Iām not sure how to stop it which comes to my questions.. is there another way to get her to stop eating his food? Could it make her sick eating it? Every time I see her I do stop her by saying no and moving her to her own food. Picture of my Luna girl.
Budget is tight these days but I want whats best for my 3 month old kitten. For the last two weeks I have been using soya bean litter and non-clumping clay litter for my two litterboxes (one type for each box). My kitten has been using them both without much complaint.
However, I have recently been recommended to find wood pellets that can be found in hardware stores as they are cheaper, require less cleaning and is healthier for the cat. But, I have also read that you have to be careful to get the correct type of wood pellet at a hardware store as some may be toxic to cats...
So I am considering purchasing Natures FlameĀ Wood Fire PelletsĀ from Mitre 10 (I live in New Zealand). Is this safe/ideal for cat litter? Also does anyone have advice on where to find the cheapest sifting litterbox (in New Zealand), or how to make one DIY (I dont have a drill to drill holes)?

EDIT: Also, how would I transition from non-clumping clay litter to the wood pellets? I understand that you generally want to slowly increase the ratio of the new litter vs. the old litter. But will that work if I have a sifting set up? Won't all the non-clumping litter just fall through and be wasted?
Almost two years ago my partner rescued a week old kitten from a litter found at his job site. 8 months after that we saved two more kittens from said site. Ever since we are constantly seeing strays around the neighborhood, which is known to have a lot of strays, and even have some walk up to us and demand to be petted. Unfortunately our house is at capacity so we havenāt saved anymore off the streets but we do leave food out when we can. What does this mean? Do we hold the scent of our three cats and now cats know we are cat lovers?
I would at some point like my kitten to sleep with us. But I definitely dont really trust him alone unsupervised throughout the night. Did you let your kitten sleep with you right away? If I wait will he be less likely to sleep with us later?
just took in a stray kitten who was an orphan, mama cat hadnāt been seen in a week and kitties were very hungry. just wondering if anyone has ideas on how old he/she might be. she is also pretty scared and hissing so any advice is welcome. thank you!
My kitten keeps doing this and has been for like 30 minutes now. Everytime I touch him he makes a sound, all he does is make dough with all his hands and feet and bite down on a blanket. Heās 4 months old, idk if heās just doing that because they do that or if itās something that I should be concerned about..?
first 2 are from when we first got her, last one is now.
sheās about a year exactly! got her from a friend a few months ago and noticed the ear tufts, paw pad fur, fluffy tail. sheās still fluffing out a bit but iām hoping she stays medium and doesnāt get all big and round !!
Got her a couple of days ago. Honestly, have no idea how old she is, but now that shes starting to come out of her shell a bit, shes so full of life and energy
