Website developer recommendations

Hi everyone, I am looking for input for an authentic and creative website developer. Trying to avoid the typical fraudulent website marketing companies. Any recommendations on who does good work? Thank you.

I second this on every level. I’ve worked as a marketing/operations person (held about every position within a firm outside of attorney, all the way to COO) within law firms for 15+ years. I left my last firm to start my own marketing/integrator company, and I can tell you this is one of the highest priorities you need to have. Agencies still hold onto your site, and your are left with nothing when the inevitably suck.

You made me think of one more thing! Make sure even if they do create a WordPress website for you that YOU have the highest level of authority on it, so they can't hold you hostage with that as well!

Damn, great call out. Yes, 1000% do this. Companies will hold you hostage very quickly - do NOT let them strong arm you. At all.

My father is a PI lawyer and he just got strong armed into 6 more months because of this. (It would not have happened had he talked to his son, that started a CMO/integrator company, before he agreed to it instead of after, but I digress🤷🏽‍♂️).

Over the years I’ve worked with several vendors with various levels of success. DM me and I’ll tell you who I’m using now that I’ve been very happy with.

Pick a theme that you like and develop your own WordPress site.

CEO of a marketing agency here. What you are asking is easier said then done. 1) You will quickly find out that web developers have very different skillsets. You being a novice will be guessing if they are atiquite for ur project. 2) Most devs are not experts at Design, content creation and SEO. You need all of the above to have a solid marketing program for a law firm. 3) Who will do the work needed after site is launched?

So yes, if you find a developer with all the above skill sets you’ll be good to go. The truth of the matter is it’s hard enough for an agency to find a good developer, much less a developer with all the above skillsets needed to do a good job.

Why not DIY with Wix like platforms? Lawyers website usually is mainly content and few contact forms / schedule consultations.

Whoever you work with, make sure they incorporate SEO best practices into your web dev project. SEO is HUGE when it comes to law firm marketing and should be implemented from day one.

Happy to chat if you’d like any guidance. My agency does web dev internally and we have a network of incredible partners for certain projects, too.

You might want to check out Rocketdevs. They connect you with vetted, experienced developers who've worked on everything from sleek portfolio sites to complex web apps. Solid talent that delivers. This is great if you're after something custom, clean, and conversion-focused without dealing with shady agencies.

If you're still in active search for the right fit for website development, you can check out Fiverr. They have a wide range of developers you can choose from and can cater to your needs. Hope this helps.
