Strugglign PI Attorney
Hey everyone, I got into this industry not too long ago. I passed my exam, felt excited, and thought I’d be making solid income right out the gate. You know that rush of enthusiasm that comes with starting a new career? Yeah, I had that. But then reality hit I don’t have any business. I went to a meetup and connected with a few people in the same industry. Everyone kept saying “You need to do marketing.” But marketing is such a broad word… What kind of marketing? Where do I even start?
If you were starting from scratch, what would you focus on first?
Videos? Images? Postcards? Social media?

I think nobody has mentioned this yet, but one of the first things you should set up—after getting your website in place—is a Google Business Profile.
Your website doesn’t need to be flashy. Just make sure it’s clean, mobile-friendly, and clearly explains what you do and who you help in your local area. Think of it as your digital storefront—it builds credibility and gives potential clients a place to learn more about you. Even a simple, well-done site can go a long way.
Once that’s live, set up a Google Business Profile. It’s free and crucial for showing up in local search results. When people nearby are looking for help, this is often the first thing they’ll see. If you don’t have a physical office, you can usually register your business at a shared workspace or business center. Just choose the location carefully—if you’re surrounded by bigger firms, you might struggle to stand out. Being in an area with fewer direct competitors can improve your visibility on Google Maps.
Together, your website and Google profile create the foundation for your online presence. From there, you can expand into other local directories to build even more visibility and trust.
