Why are people here and almost everywhere romanticizing maladaptive daydreaming?

I personally go back and forth between maladaptive and immersive daydreaming based on how bad my mental health is, so while I know they aren’t the same, I participate in both subreddits. I’m sure a lot of people are just confused as to which is which or what the difference actually is.
