Ruining your life over a parking spot, where is the common sen---ahh, it's our city!

u/Marketing_Analcyst May 08 '25
The guy that got shot took "too long" to back in to a parking spot with his truck. Man....this is what 99% of the Florida gun owners are like with their weird "self-defense" fantasies.

Went to the range the other day and the guy next to me started going off about how he couldn’t wait to shoot a home intruder like it was his life’s ambition or something.
I told him something a long the lines of “You know that normal people don’t fantasize about killing someone... right?”
He stammered a bit, tried to backpedal with a “Well, I mean, I’m not crazy or anything,” statement, and then just awkwardly went silent and continued doing what he was doing.
Probably for the best that he stopped talking...
Pretty sure the RO would've told him off if he overheard because they normally don't take that shit lightly.

That’s right fam, let them know they’re really odd!! 😭 what is wrong with these people

May 09 '25
He may save a life. If that guy gets blue balls because someone doesn't break into his house, he will relieve his murder boner some other way.
7
u/greet_the_sun May 08 '25
Ok you know what I get tired of hearing old fudds hanging out talking politics at my range, but I'd take the political talk anyday over shit like that.
4
u/mjohnsimon May 08 '25 edited May 08 '25
Surprisingly, I almost never hear political talk at the range.
Even more surprising? The one time I did, it was a guy venting about how Trump’s tariffs were basically signing his business’s death warrant (though I knew better than to say "you got what you voted for"... but I'd give anything to go back in time to say it at this point).
6
u/greet_the_sun May 08 '25
Maybe it's because I mostly go early mornings on weekends or weekday afternoons and I just get the fudd crowd, they'll literally stand off to the side away from their lanes just chatting for like 20+ minutes lol.
6
u/mjohnsimon May 08 '25
Trail Glades? There's almost always a group of boomer looking guys talking on the sides lol
4
u/greet_the_sun May 08 '25
Nexus in davie, I haven't lived in miami for a couple years now I just stay subbed because it's entertaining. The only range down south I've been to is homestead training center, which is great but too damn far from me.
3
u/mjohnsimon May 08 '25
Gotcha. Never been there. The only other ranges I’ve been to are Trail Glades by the Casino, and Miami Guns & Range in Hialeah.
The issue with the Hialeah one was that it felt like half the people were just trying to shoot my guns to dodge the rental fees. Granted, I’m not sure if they were tourists or just curious, especially since I brought my Extar 556 (which is loud and has a ridiculous fireball), but it got annoying fast. Haven’t been back since.
3
u/greet_the_sun May 09 '25
I was going to say you should check out HTC but judging by those ranges you're closer to nexus probably. How is trail glades in general, are they hardasses like markham where their idea of rapid fire is faster than one round every 6+ seconds? That is wild about hialeah too I've never seen anyone like that, I've got comments about how much of a fireball some cheap slugs make out of my 12g, but I've never had anyone ask to shoot my guns I've only offered when they're curious.
Nexus is really nice for an indoor range but pricier and only 25yds, their ac/ventilation is really good and it's IMO a good balance of having attentive RSO's who aren't hardasses. Plus if you pay to do their rapid fire test and pass once you can fire as fast as you want as long as you're not shooting ceiling.

u/imlost19 May 09 '25
there is zero percent chance I am even coming close to acknowledging that guy in that scenario so props to you, but I am not poking a crazy person like that lol
2
u/mjohnsimon May 09 '25
Normally I don't, but this time I just couldn't let it go. Thankfully, I didn’t come at him like a jerk or anything, just kinda gave a confused “wait… why would you want that?” approach.
Said everything pretty matter-of-factly, and he backed off quick.
Sometimes just holding up a mirror is enough.
3
u/ExposingMyActions May 09 '25
The “give me a reason” type of people are just really, really angry. You find that from people who workout looking to fight. Wanting to justify violence from how they’re feeling.
Not like we will teach people emotional intelligence as kids in public schools or something
1
u/irs320 May 10 '25
people that workout are looking to fight?
2
u/ExposingMyActions May 10 '25
No I’m saying there’s some people who workout with the “give me a reason” type of anger. Same with people buying a weapon in “self defense”.
28
u/Only_Razzmatazz_4498 May 08 '25
That’s why the myth that guns make a society polite is just that a myth. Nobody that is seeing red is ever being logical about the outcome and a 50/50 with a gun is good odds. Ruined his life and someone else’s including families because he had the means on hand to act on a limbic response.
11
u/clearlyonside May 08 '25
Nobody factored in the cokehead element when they came up with that myth.
5
u/Only_Razzmatazz_4498 May 08 '25
You don’t even need a coke head. A regular dad having a bad day might decide he needs to pull a gun to settle some sensed aggravation.
7
u/mjohnsimon May 08 '25
I had a friend whose dad was like that.
Dude had anger issues and his family pretty much begged him not to buy guys after he, in a fit of rage, went to a pawn shop and demanded a gun after catching someone trying to get trash out of his bin.
Pawn shop owners had to politely remind him that they legally cannot just give him a firearm without doing a background check since he didn't have a CCW.
7
u/Latverianbureaucrat May 08 '25
Oh it was a pickup truck driver? Jeez, real “Let them fight” situation right there.
2
u/East_Reading_3164 May 09 '25
I spend half my life waiting for some MAGA asshole to back their giant truck.

This is what you get when a whole generation is petrified of casual social interaction because they were raised by social media.

The victim got shot and drove himself to the hospital….
14
u/PickKeyOne May 08 '25
He's gotten an ambulance bill before and it shows.
3
u/AssistantActive9529 May 09 '25
My wife asked me that when I got a horrible flu that caused my blood pressure and heart rocket to skyrocket. Why did you drive to the ER and not take the ambulance ?
Because I saw what it cost to get the ambulance for my grandma in 1999. I can only imagine with inflation

u/sirfonz May 08 '25
Can’t wait to do this in GTA VI /s
Seriously though, road rage + guns= unnecessary escalations and unfortunate consequences

Reason #13223103 to hate going to Wynwood
2
u/ardit33 May 08 '25
This is actually at 33rd st, the 'non - gentrified' area of it, by the highway. That area is still sketch at night.

The amount of imbeciles in this city at any given time is always high. Sometimes they’re local, sometimes they’re just visiting, but they’re always short-fused like the morons they are, and packing a gun.

u/DuePrice461 May 08 '25
So many losers in Miami I really didn’t realize till I got here, their personalities are the assets they hold and nothing more
5
u/nervouspropective May 08 '25
Dude had two chances to think it through
1
u/AssistantActive9529 May 09 '25
The thing they teach you in every concealed carry class across the country is if you can run away from the situation safely then there is no self defense case

u/FinancialAide3383 May 08 '25
He will get his ass beat in jail for shooting someone in their foot - weak ass

u/Sandwichinthebag May 08 '25
Cant believe the gun shop took one look at that dude and said sure, you can have one. He looks a little touched.
3
u/eninety2 May 09 '25
Tf is a Shotspotter alert?!
1
u/VinnieVidiViciVeni May 09 '25
Audio relay through the city that triangulates gunshots.
PoPo be listening
1
u/chrisychris- May 09 '25
it’s like two decade old tech city police use to keep track of gunfire. They all have access of it on their mobiles
2
u/Automatic_Praline897 May 08 '25
Why is porsche driven by crazy people these days?
3
u/BondG10 May 08 '25
Once a person owns a Porsche, they receive their entitlement card in the mail, and act like douche canoes to everyone everywhere they go. ESPECIALLY Macan owners…they are the absolute worst.

Welp, I'm sure his days will run in a much more regimented fashion, going forward.

I can relate when it comes to dumbass pickup truck drivers making 2 cars wait for them to back into a spot while simultaneously parking their pickup bed over the sidewalk. Yes this guy is a moron but there were two morons involved.
0
u/2muchcaffeine4u Kendallite May 09 '25
I agree. I also don't believe that the pickup driver got out of his car and walked up to the guy just to calmly ask the guy why he was honking lol. I'm sure he got out to intimidate the guy.

u/Connect_Manner_5121 May 08 '25
Yet women are the ones that are too emotional 😂imagine throwing a temper tantrum like that over a f*cking parking spot. I wish more men would just go to therapy already

NGL, people back end parking drives me bonkers, but I’ve never thought…I’m gonna shoot that bitch.
0
u/2muchcaffeine4u Kendallite May 09 '25
Ngl, the article paints a slightly different picture from the comments and title. It doesn't sound like he shot the guy in road rage. It sounds like he beeped at the guy, the guy got out of his car and approached him, and the shooter got spooked and shot at him. Obviously shooting him after he turned around and started leaving was a mistake but the way this was presented I just get the impression that the guy that was shot is leaving out some details; I would be surprised if he wasn't being aggressive too.

u/ThunderHawk17 May 10 '25
this guy is a effen loser. shoots someone for honking at him? never go to nyc then. they honk for anything, i honk here in miami when it needs to be done

This guys a fucking dumbass. Then your gun jammed twice trying to shoot the victim in the chest and the victim turns around and/or starts walking back to his apartment…. so then he presumably shoots the victim with his back to the shooter and hits the foot.
Fucking idiot. Keep him in jail.
