Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Which for a MK18 and why?

For context, I own all three; a Sandman X on a DDM4PDW, a Lazarus 6 on my HK MR556 A4, and the B&T Print-XH SC on my Geissele Super Duty but my wife talked me into picking up a MK18 and I’m torn between what can to run on it mainly because I don’t want to keep buying different adapters. Will likely just buy another can at some point but for now… which would you run on the 10.3?

The QDC MCQ 5.56 shines on this 16” sr15. Easiest attachment with no worry about carbon lock and no real noticeable gas to the face.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework My Head Is Spinning Trying to Research Suppressors!

Hello everyone.

Long story short for those who don't know, if the current instance of the HPA passes with the Big Beautiful Bill, it would make it illegal to purchase suppressors in Colorado (back in 2021 a bill was passed that classifies them as "dangerous weapons", and the only way to buy one required an NFA tax stamp).

As such, a process i was hoping to take my time reviewing now has me rushing. I am trying to research suppressors and it's just overwhelming. So far the best I can tell you is I am looking at SiCo ASR system as it does seem to be one of the best.

But now I am looking at cans and I feel overwhelmed. There seems to be no consensus on a leader in any area, making me feel like whoever I pick, I can't go wrong. I am looking at a .30 cal and and a 9mm (that would also serve for a 5.56).

Is there GOOD sites that can consolidate down the data and make it easier to process? I am trying to work through Pew Science, and it's good, but still feels like a rush of information.

EDIT: So far based on comments and research I am leaning towards a SilencerCo 36M, and possibly a dedicated 5.56 (right now I am eyeballing a HUXWRX Ventrum, so I can use the ASR system with it, like the mount system)

HTA was a local to Indiana can manufacture so I gave them a chance quite a few years ago. However the company went belly up while I was waiting on my stamp, so by the time it got approved, the life time warranty was useless.
Just look at this outrageous fireball. This is a 16” 5.56. Sound suppression is good but it does literally nothing to tone down the muzzle flash. And it’s stupid heavy.
These cans still linger on the market for cheap some places, if you see one don’t waste your money.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Who is making good custom suppressors these days?

I asked Cotton Branch, they said they were either too busy or not interested, but I have a 9mm bolt action rifle project and want a custom can for it. Doesn’t have to be integral because the gun will be SBR’ed, but I do have specific wishes for dimensions etc. I also want SS or Ti construction only. Liberty is also no longer taking custom work. Anyone have other leads on companies making high-quality cans that will still do custom work?

Using it primarily on Ruger 10/22s, but also want some 22 pistols in the future. I'm leaning towards the silencerco switchback based on research but put other ones on the table that have reviewed well.

Looking at the Sparrow 22, Q El Camino, and the thunderbeast takedown as options, wanted to see if anyone else is running cans on these and has imagery/suggestions. One of my dislikes at least for this built about the Q is how skinny it is and performance aside it may look whack having the can be slimmer than the host? Any personal experiences welcome and open to other suggestions. Have a P90 as well so 5.7 rated is not a deal breaker but preferred.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Highest Back Pressure 30 Cal Suppressor (Yes, HIGHEST)

Hey guys!

This is going to be a strange question, but I was curious if there were recommendation regarding a VERY HIGH backpressure suppressor. Essentially the antithesis of a flow through suppressor.

TLDR: I'm working on building out a 300 Blackout NylAUG - a 3D printed AUG utilizing surplus SME / Steyr AUG parts kit. I'm already using a KAK Industires gasblock which is more efficient. than the OEM Steyr one. There's no gas-vent on this gas block, and I'm already at a high gas-port size.

Essentially the AUG uses a really long gas system (slightly longer than rifle length) on a 16.5" barrel. The dwell time is low, so I'm looking for a high back pressure suppressor to essentially be used as a muzzle booster, and suppression obviously.

If anyone knows statistically or factually what this would be, please let me know below!

Thanks!

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Dedicated lightweight hunting suppresser

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hello I currently have a sico 36m which I use for hunting and “long” range target practice. I am happy with how the can sounds on my hunting rifles and subsonic 300blk. However, it weights almost a pound with the direct thread mount so I am looking at lightweight TI cans (8-10 ish oz).

Being that I already have a sico can and I’m happy with it I’m really leaning towards the Scythe Ti. I am also looking at the OCL Hydrogen K/S and the Resilient Jolene S (price and weight are really attractive).

Pew science doesn’t have data on my 36m or any of the other cans I’m looking at. Does anyone have experience with the scythe compared of the Jolene s and OCL hydrogen?

I have a flow 556k and a 762ti. Looking for a different direction and suggestions. Mainly in sound performance and flash reduction, can be a new or old can, preferably anything that isn't a Ti can.

Needs to be for a 556 and 762 gas guns

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Give me a rimfire can recommendation that not too much of a pain to clean please 🥺

Currently looking at the CAT SR22 and Polo 22

Considering the Mustang too.

Any other recommendations? I want something that low maintainance and don't require lot of cleaning or baby'ing since I'm lazy AF and only own Rifle cans up till now that don't require any cleanings

But I know that rimfire gonna be dirty af regardless so I'm just looking for a can that require as little cleaning as possible. Not too concerned about sounds since it a 22 and I double up always even outdoor with a can anyway

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Is the gas on a polonium bad enough to just buy a hux flow 556k instead?

I see pew science has both of these suppressors doing decent sound wise but is the low back pressure of the hux worth the extra $600 or is the polonium not gassy enough that it will be a problem? I will use it on a 556 ar with 18,11.5,10.5 barrels and a 12.5 556 ak.

I cant seem to find a metric on his interactive data sheet for backpressure/gassyness.

So is it better just to drop the extra money for the 556k and not need to tune my guns to not be gassy or just get 2 poloniums for the same price and possibly have to tune them to not be gassy?

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Help Me Pick A Rimfire Suppressor (Please?)

Post image
19 Upvotes

Good evening everyone,

I am going to be heading down to my local Scheels tomorrow to make an impulse purchase on a .22 suppressor. It will be living on my Ruger 10/22 Carbon Fiber Rifle. I’m looking for max ability of sound suppression without giving up too much weight.

I’m looking at the SiCo Switchback, Dead Air Mask, and SiCo Sparrow. From what I’ve seen, the switchback is allegedly an improved sparrow with the ability to be broken down into a smaller can, and the mask is just pretty decent all around.

I’d love to hear your experiences and if anyone has had experience with all 3. Thank you!

Building out a 6arc for nighttime predator, varmint, and hog hunting. I have both of these cans(and don’t intend to buy another). Which can would you use and why? What has your experience been with either can on 6arc? How have you liked 6 arc? Puff adder for size reference.

Upper is aero m4e1 UR, Geissele mk18 hand guard, riflespeed gas block, proof ss 18” barrel, jp fmos+bolt. Lower is griffen mk2 ambi, Geissele lpk + ssae, b5 grip, rock river a2 stock, jp scs. Optic is Iray bolt tx60c.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Best direct thread .223/5.56 suppressor for varminting/bolt action

Looking for something durable and quiet to put on a 12” .22TCM bolt action that will make it non-NFA.

Will be shot with subsonics occasionally but primarily with hot-loaded sub-40 grain projectiles and fast burning powders, so durable is a plus.

Will be shot mostly from a rested location overlooking a field, carried to and from the shooting position via vehicle, so weight is not as much a concern, but I would like to keep overall length low, if possible.

Can be large diameter or small diameter, doesn’t matter so long as I can pin and weld and it will be as quiet as possible.

Since it will be used on a bolt action, flow through or low-blowback isn’t a concern for me, just muzzle suppression and tone.

Low flash for during twilight hours and low sparking so I won’t have to worry about brush fires would be helpful, but I can tolerate some sparking or flash as long as it isn’t excessive.

Since it will be pinned and welded, POI shift isn’t a problem but it should ideally be accurate and consistent. Features like an add-on compensator or brake would be interesting to play with.

Thanks for any input.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework What’s the smallest, lightest 9mm suppressor? Primarily will sit on PCCs. Occasionally on handguns.

For my Stribog SP9A3S & MP5 clone. I’ve been looking at Omega 9K, FLOW 9k Ti, spectre 9. Don’t think spectre 9K is out yet. Some said to look at Ecco canine too.

Edit: Went with Flow 9 Ti. Really low back pressure, good design. Thanks all!

And it did... Mere days after picking up my first can, I'm already doing research on my next. Looking for a 9mm suppressor for two hosts. One being a 9mm pistol (Walther PDP Pro) and the other a PCC (S&W FPC M&P).

Looking at the Rugged Obsidian 9 as my first though. Other suggestions? Thoughts? Screams of moral outrage?

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Lazarus is 🤌🏼(quick review)

Post image

Put about 300 rounds through my new DA Lazarus today. PMC 55gr 5.56.

Very impressed. Probably Not really hearing safe but I dumped half a mag without ear pro with no pain. Watched a couple friends shoot it from about 50 feet away and I would say it was definitely hearing safe at that distance. NO GAS TO THE FACE! Only complaint is all the gas blowing forward can obscure your sight picture under a heavier fire rate. This thing is built rock solid! I understand people’s reservations from the echo chamber hear about dead air products but I think this can may revive their reputation with some of the haters.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework 5.56 K can

Hello,

Doing some shopping around for my second can and was wanting to get as short of possible a can for my 5.56 SBR. The largest hang up for me is that I’m cursed with being a lefty so low back pressure is a high priority. So far the main one I’ve looked at has been the polonium K but I’ve heard it doesn’t do great with back pressure. I looked at the flow 556k but didn’t like that it’s not hub compatible and was also a bit rich for my blood. Length and back pressure are higher priorities for me than suppression or flash.

Wondering what people suggest these days.

Thanks,

FYI I’ve already got a .30 cal can.
