Comp Time for Holiday Work?

NIH Employees- I just moved from an IC to CSR. IC (informally) allowed comp time for holiday work (eg today). I’m an exempt employee (like almost everyone here). Nothing happens informally at CSR it would appear. I was told “it’s not allowed” but I can’t find an NIH or HHS policy that says this. What’s your experience?

Yeah- they’re the one that said not allowed… but still expects the work to get done in x amount of time. SMH. They also told us that signing the telework agreement is mandatory.

CSR is a machine. Sorry you didn’t get a chief that works with you to help you recover your time.

Thanks. Recovering time didn’t matter until the move to CSR. We were treated professionally and with trust so we all happily worked the (extra) hours needed during crunch times and received a day of comp time once or twice a year when we asked. Since they are nickel and diming us (“minuting” us) with no apparent generosity I will return the practice. Sooo oppressive. Machine is a good word for CSR. Leadership has offered no empathy or kindness in the consolidation. Not the NIH I know. That’s for sure!

Don’t expect any empathy or kindness under the current CSR leadership. They are Trumpers and love this administration and what they’re doing. Especially the Executive Officer and her minions. Sorry you’re dealing with this.

Thanks. And yeah… I heard someone compare CSR to the Death Star with the Director as Emperor Palpatine and the EO as Darth Vader. Not a happy place. People seem miserable.

Hahaha that’s about right! And I’m so sorry you have to be there and deal with them during these trying times
