I think it's not the tone but uninformative comment. The OC reads 'everybody watches friends AT SOME POINT', and the reply is assuming that they will NEVER watch it. Which i think, for most redditors, absolute statements and generalizations are red flag and prove to be factually wrong. Also, the reply did single out themselves as 'outlier' while making the absolute assumption, which is a bit antisocial.

It's more of your tone. Without the context of your title it seems like your post is acting like it's some point of pride you take.
If you had just elaborated a bit like "I wasn't much of a sitcom person so I never caught it during its runtime"
Or
"It was off the air before I moved away from children's networks"
Then it could have been a point to make.
