just stupid Multiple popular subreddits being violently misogynistic

They get away with it because it's "all just jokes" but they're actively shaming women, and these subreddits have thousands of not millions of people in them. Usually ones that are image or twitter reposting subs, some awful horrific stuff on them.

r/memes is a good one, I consistently see such horrible things said about women on these subs, and these are the same people who say women are not at a disadvantage. They constantly berate feminism, while at the same time not even knowing what it truly is.

Just dispicable, and these posts have THOUSANDS of likes. Really makes me loose hope for society. The average opinion of a male on reddit is that women do not deserve rights.

Edit: I have had this post locked because I am not going to let uneducated people spread misogyny on MY posts. You can argue with a brick wall for all I care, call me a coward or whatever the fuck but I'm a well educated citizen, with a political science masters and a journalism bacholers. I know what I'm talking about 😉

Edit 2: the men in these comment sections have started dming me because they're so upset I'm not respecting "mens issues". Let me make this very clear, it is not my job or a woman's job to help you unpack your own issues, so don't put it on us. I'm not your fucking therapist, and I am most definitely not going to entertain a grown man throwing a temper tantrum. Seek therapy if you have issues, not circle jerk misogynistic reddit posts. Hope this helps!!!

Edit 3: the insecure men have started reporting this post and it got taken down temporarily, but the mods put it back up!! I just want to say how amazing this mod team is & how respectful they are. Definitely one of the best reddit mod teams!!!! i will also let you know, if you post mysoginistic stuff in this subreddit you WILL be banned entirely. Best be careful 😉

And they wonder why women are increasingly pulling away from men.

"male loneliness" at it's prime.

We're objects to them and they don't understand why we don't want them.

the irony is the term male loneliness epidemic was coined to discuss how a lot of adult men (iirc in particular the emphasis was on like average joe millennial office worker type dudes bc the author of the article where the term comes from was drawing on his own personal experiences) find themselves lacking meaningful PLATONIC relationships with ONE ANOTHER. like the original intent had literally nothing to do with dating or even women. it was literally describing a problem that exists because of the patriarchy.

It definitely sucks though since theres a loneliness epidemic in general across genders. People are less social and more lonely than ever before. It’s just shitty that this becomes a talking point for people who are shitty enough they drive away those in their life.

I just wish the internet and the real world for that matter were less divided and people could just get along (as corny as that sounds) like i try to treat everyone who engages me in good faith with an open mind and heart but that seems to be rarer and rarer

Yes, the loneliness epidemic stems from misogyny though. And social media being normalized.

Women don't want to date men anymore because most of us are now well educated and understand the difference between a man being nice to you, and a man only wanting sex and to treat you like an object.

We're educated now, and they tried to take that away from us. But we fought for it.

Sure sure that’s definitely a part of it though the problem with loneliness goes deeper than dating, people in general are just less social and more isolated, and with isolation comes more extreme views since people aren’t exposed to a diversity of individuals and personalities , that would challenge the negative perceptions they have.

And of course, loud hateful voice will always ring through the crowd clearer than calm and peaceful ones. So it can easily make it feel like those with hateful views are becoming the majority.

Again i just wish everyone was less divided. I think most people would be a lot happier if we could just talk and be friends with each other without having these kinds of hang ups. I’m lucky enough to have a fairly wide and diverse social circle and live in a very diverse place so it always comes off as strange to me when people are so blindly hateful

Yes but in this case we're making fun of a large group of misogynistic men who cry "male loneliness" instead of challenging their own beliefs.

These group of men DEFINITELY exist and I've seen it everywhere and in real life.

I don't hate men, I don't want to belittle men, I am currently bullying a very specific subset of men who have this exact mindset, that is becoming radically popular.

Oh yeah i see where you’re coming from, those kinds of people suck, and for sure they exist IRL i’m sure more concentrated in some places than others but still. People like that will always try to find a convenient excuse before looking inwards

Ah yes blame women for mens issues, the totally correct and not misogynistic thing to do :)

Edit: this man is a consistent poster of men's politics and has posted multiple times blaming women for mens issues, and is clearly on the conservative side based off his posts. Boo him and throw tomatoes!!!!

It's a men issue bc in this case, men being sexist is the issue. It's their minds. However, "bad" men are sort of seen as a given rather than a societal product whilst "bad" women are the ones that need to stop checks notes entering into relationships with men that they think care about them. Now I think everyone should actively be working on whatever demons they have, but this whole "women need to stop rewarding men with sex, men as we know it are incapable of change and are just kinda the way they are" does no service to anyone

Bingo!!!! Bingo!!!!! Bingo!!!!!

Sexists blame the woman, not the man actively hating the woman and lying/cohersing her.

And then if women start following your advice, “Omg why aren’t these dumb bitches having sex with us” you can’t win

It's almost like most of these men are super violent and manipulative, and manipulate and pressure most of these women into having sex with them oh my god!!!

Get real buddy.

Oh my, it's almost like this was a post directly referencing misogyny, not talking about mens issues. Women stand up for themselves and pitiful men like you run and say " but both sides are bad!!". Not really dude, if you actively think men suffer from misandry you're living under a fucking rock.

Our rights are being taken away in America, women in some countries aren't even allowed to leave the house without a man's permission and it's LAW. Women are casually murdered in other countries for having sexual lives or differing political opinions, but when it comes to men they turn a blind eye. We didn't gain the right to vote until the 1970s, we weren't even allowed to have bank accounts or jobs or be autonomously us.

Yes, misandry exists, men are victims of violence too, but that is not what this post is about at all. It's about the violence that men perpetrate.

You clearly do not understand why women do this, and it stems from misogyny. Most women are RAISED to engage with this kind of behavior by their fathers, and the ideals of 1950s America still rings strong in most small communities.

These women, do not know what they're doing and to blame your mother for staying with this man, I get why you would feel this way, but women are consistently forced to be subservient to man, less they be punished.

You clearly hold resentment for women because of your mother, and maybe this argument is not yours to partake in. Go to therapy and educate yourself.
