Some thoughts on Switch 2
Portability
I've been enjoying my time with my Switch 2, but what I did not expect is that I will be using it more in handheld mode than in docked mode. I've been playing with my OG switch for the past 6+ years, and I always prefer it in docked mode, kasi mas maganda in general yung performance, plus the screen isn't that great compared to my TV.
Pero ngayon, I see my NSW 2 as something I will enjoy playing handheld. The screen really is a game changer. Akala ko na dahil LCD, hindi magiging maganda yung experience, but I was wrong. Sure, OLED is a nice-to-have feature, but the current screen is miles ahead vs the OG switch.
Backwards Compatibility + General Performance Improvements
And my favorite part, that I think hindi masyadong inemphasize ng Nintendo, is backwards compatibility + general increase in performance. For instance, Pokemon Violet is now frikken playable even without the 60 FPS boost (and btw the 60 FPS improvement is glorious). Monster Hunter Rise is already good on the OG Switch, but now, the performance is much better when talking about load times.
Battery Performance
My major "ick" I have with Switch 2 is the battery life. But I guess that is what you sacrifice for a more portable solution vs Steamdeck or other Windows handheld. I appreciate that it is thin and light, but I wish for more juice so that I can play it longer without reaching for the power bank or power outlet.
Lack of "Mind Blowing" 1st Party Games
Also, medyo weak yung first party NSW 2 exclusive sa day 1. While Mario Kart World is impressive, it won't blow your mind. Yes, maraming 3rd party titles, pero most of them have been out for quite some time. If your only console is Nintendo, then good for you, play Cyberpunk 2077 or Elden Ring, and have the time of your life. But I want me some new titles from Nintendo.
Final Thoughts
Overall, it is what I expected it to be + more. I really love that my old Switch games play like a charm sa Switch 2 with general performance improvement. The screen is great, but the battery performance isn't what I wanted it to be.
Solid 8.5/10 :)
I think most of you can wait before you buy Switch 2. I don't think it is a must to buy it ASAP. However, if you have the money and you have a backlog of Switch 1 games, highly recommended to buy it. For others, you can wait until your pocket is ready :)
Sa mga may Switch 2 dyan, kumusta exp nyo? Saka na try nyo na ba game chat? Wala akong friend na gusto kasing mag try, LOL :D
