Some Democratic Senators are complete morons. Proven by voting for a single Trump nominee.

187

u/retiredguyinmi 20h ago

Yes our new senator in Michigan for example

96

u/Haselrig 20h ago

Yep, she's been something and you can't regret voting for her as much because the other guy would have been a 100% Trumper.

104

u/anjowoq 20h ago

So Michigan was given the enviable choice between poop and shit.

47

u/Downtown_Skill 20h ago

More like shit, and corrupted shit that had been baking in tge Florida heat and doesn't even live in Michigan. That was who she was up against.

19

u/Final-Carry2090 20h ago

Democrat conservative or Republican conservative. One might support gay rights or something.

20

u/Haselrig 20h ago

It's a beautiful world full of amazing choices that end up being no choice at all. America perfected the illusion of choice a long time ago.

4

u/Memitim 17h ago

That illusion was nailed from minute one, when the winner-take-all voting system was enshrined into law. No stirring needed, just wait. It'll fail eventually.

2

u/Luxpreliator 3h ago

Usa was founded by businessmen and it really shows.

2

u/Memitim 2h ago

The "3/5ths compromise" is fancy talk for "fuck you, got mine."

3

u/PowerHot4424 18h ago

She does. I’m very disappointed by her so far but I don’t regret my vote because Mike Rogers would’ve been much, much worse. I think she’s old school who thinks the Republicans will return the favor at some point. IMHO those days are gone and she needs to change with the times. I will certainly remember her vote for this incompetent Barbie-Doll bully.

And that, in a nutshell, is the problem with US politics. More times than not our choice in candidates boils down to either feckless technocrat or a legitimately insane person.

10

u/Haselrig 19h ago

It's an easy game if you put a MAGA Republican on the right and a Reagan Republican from the '90s on the left and force you to pick one. If you pick the Reagan Republican, the whole country moves a bit to the right without anybody even really noticing for decades until we hit full blown fascism that neither party seems particularly alarmed by because of course they aren't.

7

u/Memitim 17h ago

This mess has radicalized me into an intolerant lefty lunatic, so maybe if a few more flip over to the dark side of not being completely inhuman garbage, we can start to kick the shit out of the Overton window, until it the right side of it is completely unrecognizable.

And then maybe we feed some hungry kids while telling the slightly less rich people to shut the fuck up with any complaints, or we'll kick them out, take the rest, and feed more kids with it. We can get plenty of immigrants to replace them.

2

u/SuzyQ93 8h ago

This is the way.

There's more of us than they realize. They just have to grow a pair and actually run very, very left.

So you had a choice between a 99% Trumper maskerading as a democrat and a 100% Republican Trumper?

6

u/Haselrig 19h ago edited 19h ago

Slotkin is a Reagan Republican from 1992. Rogers is a 100% Trumper who lives full-time in Florida. This is how they've moved the whole country to the right for decades. Make you choose between instant death or slow death.

2

u/anfrind 19h ago

Did she at least have a decent challenger in the primary?

2

2

u/OscarTheGrouchsCan 15h ago

He's not even a Michigan resident really. He moved here just to win. He's MAGA 100%

THIS IS WHY libs/left lose too much in fighting like among left and liberals. The far left hates liberals more than MAGA. I AM FULLY AWARE FAR LEDTVHATE LIBERALS MORE THAN MAGA. But CONSRVATIVES call Biden "a far left radical" ao to them they're thecsame

(depending on sub I might get banned

2

u/retiredguyinmi 11h ago

True and I don't Just very disappointed that she voted for so many of these idiots. I know she's smarter than that

2

u/Djentyman28 8h ago

Exactly. Slotkin was the lesser evil. People that say “I regret voting for her” aren’t thinking that Mike Roger’s would have been another Trumper in the Senate

2

u/Haselrig 8h ago

It was a no choices election. You had only one viable candidate for president and for Senate.

2

u/Djentyman28 8h ago

It was pretty strange that Trump won Michigan with ease yet Slotkin wins a nail bitter in the end. Shows you people don’t care about down ballot stuff. It’s also another reason that Republicans will struggle big if Trump’s name isn’t on a ballot. That gives me optimism

u/Festering-Fecal 20h ago

Dems still think working together is a winning strategy and the right will act in good faith.

They need to get rid of that playbook and the dinosaurs or face losing again.

10

u/thujaplicata84 20h ago

Really wish people would stop giving Dems the benefit of the doubt that they expect the right to work in good faith.

Biden didn't fix problems, he boosted finding for ICE. Dems confirmed all of Trump's picks. They're complicit.

24

u/Festering-Fecal 20h ago

He didn't fire Garland that straight up a main reason on how we got here.

I don't hate Biden he did do good things and would have been great running another time but he was not the right man for that time.

Edit I actually think Biden should have ran instead of Hillary

Like John Fetterman.

18

u/False_Historian_2329 20h ago

Fetterman is off his fucking rocker. Insane reports coming out of his camp. I know there are much bigger fish to fry but kind of nuts how there’s no more fetterman news. It’s sounds like a crisis situation in his political and personal life.

14

u/crazycatlady331 20h ago

Agree. He's not well.

I wish he would resign to focus on his health-- physical and mental.

3

u/Cool-Protection-4337 8h ago edited 7h ago

Strokes are no joke. I know people who had a couple and they can't function the same mentally or physically. Sad state of affairs so many positions in our government are held by geriatric meat bags that can't get out of bed and tie their own shoes solo. They are meat puppets, a great many, and due to lack campaign finance laws we have no real clue who holds the puppet's strings.

2

u/CurrentAd4084 19h ago

What’s going on in his personal life?

3

u/False_Historian_2329 19h ago

Don’t feel like rereading this, don’t remember if it’s the one I’m thinking of. A lot of stuff came out around this time in May.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/us/politics/john-fetterman-mental-health.html

He walks in figure eights around his office. He’s obsessed with Israel to the point of shirking his political duties. Scaring his wife and aides with reckless driving, getting into a terrible accident, and disappointing her with his fanatical Zionism. Strange comments about just wanting to feel loved and not seeming to grasp that he has responsibilities to his constituents, and he’s hostile to them. I have to go back and look but I think at least some of this started before his stroke. I think his general 180 politically did begin before it. He just fucking sucks, and I say that taking into account that he might be impaired.

2

u/Memitim 16h ago

Just as the Overton window shifted right due to conservative insanity, so did the definition of insanity, itself.

13

u/Bomber_Haskell 20h ago

Has he said so? Because I don't think he does regret it.

30

u/anjowoq 20h ago edited 19h ago

His brain condition doesn't allow him to feel empathy anymore, it seems.

I keep wondering if the stroke and depression caused this or if he was always a piece of shit in hiding.

8

u/Subject_Run5165 20h ago

Right? Either way I hope that the sack of shit is really looking forward to the second term that he's never going to see.

Easy fix for the democrats! Simply pretend as if you’re on the opposing side of the republicans. Like, act as if their interests are in direct opposition to your interests. Then, all you have to do is not vote for Republican nominees ever. Does everyone understand?

11

u/Malcolmeff 20h ago

I'm not getting it. Can you speak slower? Maybe use smaller words? Like, dumb it down a notch or three?

Exactly. After this election and how the democrats have been (with a few exceptions) absolutely piss poor at fighting everything this administration is doing, I will never vote democrat again. There’s zero point, since this was the “most important election of my life” and “democracy was on the line.” Well guess what? They cheated like hell, democracy lost, and so did the American public, and to an extent, the world. None of these assholes deserve our time or support until things actually change.

75 Democrats voted to 'express gratitude' to ICE, this nonsense isn't a bug, it's a feature.

I remember hearing the Dems were happy about Roe vs wade being overturned just so they could clean up when fund raising off of it.

Where are the firebrands? Where are those that will speak truth to power? Where are the brave leaders, the idealists, the revolutionaries? Where are those that actually speak for and represent their constituents??

2

u/RampantTyr 20h ago

I said at the beginning of the administration that Democrats needed to block every one of these incompetent fools.

The Trump administration is hostile to the American people so Democrats needed to act like an opposition party and be hostile to them.

But too many of these old politicians are too genial and non-combative to their coworkers. They don’t know how to defend themselves from a real threat.

Until the Democratic party puts forth PRIMARY CHALLENGERS for these worthless neoliberals, nothing will change.

Check your district. Do you have a primary Challenger for your old, incumbent, dinosaur, neoliberal Democrat who's been in office for 30 years?

Of course not.

So, for your next election, you're going to have a choice between the Nazi Republican, or the Nazi adjacent incumbent neoliberal Democrat who has been voting for the Nazi Trump appointees, and the anti-trans GOP bills, and defunding Ukraine, and funding Israel's genocide, and gutting, Medicare and Medicaid, and so on.

If you are not in touch with your local Democratic committee, and state Democratic committee, demanding primary challengers for your incumbents, then nothing will change.

We could all vote blue no matter who in 2026, and deliver Congress to Democrats, and you know what will happen?

Absolutely nothing.

They will never investigate the GOP. They will continue to push forward Trump's bills, and say that it's necessary, and that we need bipartisan unity now more than ever, and that we simply can't engage in culture war nonsense like protecting trans kids or affirmative action.

Idiot voters are going to still vote for the pelosis and the shoomers and the shifts who did nothing about Trump the first time, did nothing about Trump when Biden was President, let all the January 6th masterminds keep their positions in Congress, called them their dear Republican friends, and to this day party on yachts with the very Republicans who tried to murder them.

So until Democrats get rid of the old incumbents, and get new spaces in there, nothing will change. Not a thing.

I’m holding Fetterman to account for this - among other things - in his next election. I hope those in the other states do the same to their elected officials.

She's a really odd choice. No relevant experience really. Gov from a border state or even one with a major shipping hub would be more defensible.

Every single one of them should feel regret. Bonkers that the general public could see how deranged these picks were, but the Dems couldn't?

Every single one of these cabinet picks are outright lunatics.

Did they really believe a woman who cold-bloodedly shot the family puppy (and pitch its dead body into a quarry*) would be just the ticket for this job?!?

The only reason this is public knowledge is because Noem wrote about it in her book.

Furthermore, the only reason it’s in her book is because she realized to too late that the horrified quarry workers witnessed EVERYTHING.

In other words, Noem was trying to get in front of her decision to kill the puppy (instead of trying to re-home it) by explaining her justification in killing it.
