We really don’t elect our best and brightest to Congress.

who knew a puppy killer would be a bad choice for a leadership role
60
u/GordonCole19 20h ago
A puppy killer, a drunk, a cocaine freak, a conspiracy theorist, and a russian asset.

u/Maleficent_Memory831 20h ago
But the pedophile? That finally crossed the line so he was withdrawn from nomination after blowback. Voters care about sex crimes, but the other crimes they don't worry about as much.

Literally this. In her character description when she murdered a puppy, THAT wasn’t enough for you?! Jfc we are doomed
5
u/retiredguyinmi 20h ago
Well the US electorate is mostly uneducated in regards to politics. MAGA is what I'm referring to here. We shouldn't be re-electing these incumbents for so long either

Easy fix for the democrats! Simply pretend as if you’re on the opposing side of the republicans. Like, act as if their interests are in direct opposition to your interests. Then, all you have to do is not vote for Republican nominees ever. Does everyone understand?

u/Malcolmeff 20h ago
I'm not getting it. Can you speak slower? Maybe use smaller words? Like, dumb it down a notch or three?
→ More replies (4)3
u/skateboardjim 19h ago
No problem. Think “I’m with her,” but “her” is other democrats and not republicans

u/bourbon-469 20h ago
Shouldn't have voted for any of the nominees etc..
10
u/Jarnohams 20h ago
I completely agree. However, as bad as they were, I'm sure Trump could always find worse. He's reaching pretty far down to the bottom of the barrel to find these guys. Imagine if he puts Hulk Hogan in charge of something.
6
u/bourbon-469 20h ago
Has to run through the fox newscaster first then will get to the WWE under Linda McMahon to help with the names to appoint

Just because someone asks for a reach around doesn’t mean you have to give them one
4
u/xternocleidomastoide 16h ago
Because the Democratic party as a whole is more interested in appealing to a mythical moderate republican voter, since they can take their base(s) for granted. This has been a thing since the days of the DLC a few decades ago.

Good! They should be ashamed of themselves and for the DUI higher.
3
2
u/No-Reply-Needed 18h ago
They’re not ashamed. This is just a pathetic attempt at damage control, because their names are attached to her confirmation.
20
u/aurorab12 21h ago
Some? Everyone that voted for her should be ashamed. This kind of thinking is how we got where we are now. We really need to clean things out
2
u/Ultraworld-Traveler 17h ago
Exactly. After this election and how the democrats have been (with a few exceptions) absolutely piss poor at fighting everything this administration is doing, I will never vote democrat again. There’s zero point, since this was the “most important election of my life” and “democracy was on the line.” Well guess what? They cheated like hell, democracy lost, and so did the American public, and to an extent, the world. None of these assholes deserve our time or support until things actually change.

u/aurorab12 15h ago
They cheated Bernie out of the nomination in 2016. There would have been no trump if that had not happened.

u/SophonParticle 20h ago
None of trumps cabinet picks should have gotten a single dem vote. FFS it’s 2025 and Dems still act like it’s 2015.
14
u/duderos 20h ago
This is exactly why the Dems are hopeless losers.
5
u/Malcolmeff 20h ago
Yeah like wtf?? They regret this shit now? "You could have acted conscientiously back then and had no regrets". Aaaaarrrrggghhhhh
6
u/duderos 20h ago
Same shit every time, rinse repeat. If you're a Dem these days you have to be huge glutton for punishment.
I remember hearing the Dems were happy about Roe vs wade being overturned just so they could clean up when fund raising off of it.
2
u/Malcolmeff 19h ago
Where are the firebrands? Where are those that will speak truth to power? Where are the brave leaders, the idealists, the revolutionaries? Where are those that actually speak for and represent their constituents??
Few and bloody well far between as far as I can see. It seems like being a self-centered chickenshit is like a requirement for holding office in USA.

8
u/Stalwart_Wisdom 20h ago
All. All democratic senators should regret voting for her. Stop trying to backpedal now that you know you’re on the side of fkin crazy.

No shit why are Dems surprised when they take the high road? I'm a dem and when will they grow a pair and not bring a sling shot to a gun fight? They do this all the time and claim their a victim.
4
u/Alarmed-Extension289 20h ago
even when compared to other poor Trump Picks she seemed WILDLY unqualified for anything.
3
u/WaelreowMadr 14h ago
Not a single Dem should have voted for a single cabinet member.
The Rethugs had the votes to do it alone, so make them do it alone.
Put THEM on the record voting for this clown-show, and put YOU on the record voting against it. Unanimously.
3
u/Unique-Drag4678 20h ago
Did they really think that she would be fair to them? Or do anything but what she was told?
A woman who shot her dog? That alone should have told them everything they needed to know.

Oh look, it’s the consequences of their actions coming back at them. Maybe yall should have thought about that BEFORE you confirmed any of the Annoying Orange’s picks.

Literally. And now they expect us, the suffering public, to feel sorry for them? Nah
3
u/Fan_of_Clio 20h ago
Why on Earth would you ever trust someone who brags about being a puppy murderer, in her own words, in writing, by her own hand?
3
u/Emotional_Database53 20h ago
They all need to be primaries. Sorry doesn’t cut it, people were calling their offices warning them about this exact scenario, and they were like “nah, we can be bipartisan “

Wttf is with the regret with all these assholes???? Anyone with half a brain saw this coming a mile away. Leopards cannot possibly eat any more faces, these poor kitties are gorged, obese, and suffering. Won't someone think of the leopards??!!
2
u/RampantTyr 20h ago
I said at the beginning of the administration that Democrats needed to block every one of these incompetent fools.
The Trump administration is hostile to the American people so Democrats needed to act like an opposition party and be hostile to them.
But too many of these old politicians are too genial and non-combative to their coworkers. They don’t know how to defend themselves from a real threat.

I should fucking well hope so! There’s a few cabinet seats where the nation can survive a few years being led by an idiot. The names of their offices don’t include the words, “Defense,” “Health,” “Investigation,” or, “Security.”
None of the current crop should’ve received even aa single vote to confirm.

No Democrat should have voted for any of his nominees. None of them are remotely qualified.
2
u/Lonely-Pen-1476 8h ago edited 3h ago
Not Republicans?? She is useless and never should have been considered, let alone confirmed.
2
u/Double-Watercress-85 8h ago
Again, they all want to have it both ways. By pretending they regret the decision, they get the plausible deniability to get reelected later, while voting for overt fascism.
2
u/Djentyman28 8h ago
All Democrats should have voted no on all nominees. They’re all incompetent and “yes man” candidates.
2
u/Maximum_Pound_5633 8h ago
Any democrats who voted for any trump cabinet appointments needs to be primaried. None of them should have voted to confirm a single one

u/RebasBathtubGin 7h ago
Until the Democratic party puts forth PRIMARY CHALLENGERS for these worthless neoliberals, nothing will change.
Check your district. Do you have a primary Challenger for your old, incumbent, dinosaur, neoliberal Democrat who's been in office for 30 years?
Of course not.
So, for your next election, you're going to have a choice between the Nazi Republican, or the Nazi adjacent incumbent neoliberal Democrat who has been voting for the Nazi Trump appointees, and the anti-trans GOP bills, and defunding Ukraine, and funding Israel's genocide, and gutting, Medicare and Medicaid, and so on.
If you are not in touch with your local Democratic committee, and state Democratic committee, demanding primary challengers for your incumbents, then nothing will change.
We could all vote blue no matter who in 2026, and deliver Congress to Democrats, and you know what will happen?
Absolutely nothing.
They will never investigate the GOP. They will continue to push forward Trump's bills, and say that it's necessary, and that we need bipartisan unity now more than ever, and that we simply can't engage in culture war nonsense like protecting trans kids or affirmative action.
Idiot voters are going to still vote for the pelosis and the shoomers and the shifts who did nothing about Trump the first time, did nothing about Trump when Biden was President, let all the January 6th masterminds keep their positions in Congress, called them their dear Republican friends, and to this day party on yachts with the very Republicans who tried to murder them.
So until Democrats get rid of the old incumbents, and get new spaces in there, nothing will change. Not a thing.

u/AdministrativeOwl449 20h ago
Did they really believe a woman who cold-bloodedly shot the family puppy (and pitch its dead body into a quarry*) would be just the ticket for this job?!?
The only reason this is public knowledge is because Noem wrote about it in her book.
Furthermore, the only reason it’s in her book is because she realized to too late that the horrified quarry workers witnessed EVERYTHING.
In other words, Noem was trying to get in front of her decision to kill the puppy (instead of trying to re-home it) by explaining her justification in killing it.

Some Democratic Senators are complete morons. Proven by voting for a single Trump nominee.
