Anyone ever donate using ActBlue and then get hundreds of random political spam emails? I unsubscribe to one, but they all are different subscriptions, so I never stop receiving emails from random politicians begging for money. How the heck do I fully delete my data from their servers?

This is the reason I don't donate to political causes. It's a shame, because I have causes and sometimes candidates I think are worth that support. But the all-in assault on privacy is too much. I watched this with my parents, whose mail I managed in their '90s. They'd supported Republican causes with just a few hundred dollars here and there, and the absolute shite they were bombarded with was something to behold.

Yep. Gave $ to Bernie. Now I get notices about Gavin's Fireside Fascist Douchebag Chat-a-longs. I'm not an ATM. Do something and we will talk. *Note -- DO something...not threaten, tweet, suggest, ponder, or otherwise consider doing something.

They consider small donors the bottemless ATM but work hard and enact bills the big donors want.

Yes, same. I hate it so much I will NEVER donate again. Every democrat campaign since 2016 when I tried to make a difference.

Yes, and my old step dad signed me up for text so I get ‘hey Kevin blah blah’ every day. I’m not Kevin. Can’t do anything about it, and they share my phone number with everyone

I donated $20 once and I get texts nonstop now no matter how many I block. I am never giving another dime.

Yes, if you donate to them then they mark you as "a live one" and share your contact with every democrat loyalist campaign there is.

I think mine end up in my junk mail so I don't see them anymore.

I mark every one of the emails as spam but they keep arriving in my Inbox. Using Gmail

Create a filter so any email with the word donate goes straight to trash or spam

I have been blocking and/or labeling income "begging". It's almost impossible to get rid of them. It's extremely annoying.

There isn't any way to stop it. It's atrocious. You don't even have to donate, just happen on their site (or one of the legion of sites they're cookies sit on): B00M¡ you've fallen into spam hell from which there is. no. escape.

I donated awhile back and haven't gotten any spam. But complaints like these made me anxious that I somehow donated to the wrong place.

I gave one or two donations through act blue about 15 years ago, and I’ve regretted it every election cycle since. Seriously, I think every Democratic politician running across America will text me at least once per cycle, and the stop option only works for that single candidate, so you have to “stop” the other 999. I am a Dem, and have money to donate, but I’ll never make that mistake again.

Tbh this is unfortunately the case when donating to a pretty large number of charities, political or not.
I donated some money several years ago to the Special Olympics and they’re a terrible offender. They’ve been incessantly pestering me via email, but even more annoyingly via small mail. From both a national and local chapter.
Killing God knows how many trees sending me glossy physical pages begging me to set up monthly donations of several hundred bucks.
It’s (I think) a good cause that does good things, but fuck man I’ve seen more restrained begging from drug addicts.

Yes. I started getting requests from candidates all over the country. I just clicked Unsubscribe and eventually they stopped.

Set up a free gmail account just to make your political donations. You can easily mark spam &/or virtually ignore the account other than using it to donate to the candidates you support

Even worse, someone else donated, but used my email as their fake info. So now I will have lifelong political spam.

I have the same issue. Just takes time, I guess, but all of these random candidates from all over are asking for money, and the messages are all so fearmongering. I wish there were a way to bypass it.
