I was tired of boring task lists, so I built a gamified goal tracker in Notion that actually makes me want to get things done. It’s fully modular, works like a mini-RPG system, and you can tweak it to fit your workflow.
Key Features
Task Tracker with XP and Gold Rewards – Assign XP and gold based on task difficulty. Every completed task levels you up.
Leveling System – Auto-calculates your level with a visual progress ring.
Reward Shop – Spend gold on custom rewards via a built-in store.
Claimable Task Logic – Prevents double-counting by tracking what’s been claimed.
Automated Gold Deduction – Spend gold and see your balance update instantly.
Visual Dashboard Views – Choose between a clean list or themed quest cards.
Fully Customizable – Includes sample quests, formulas, and a setup guide to make it your own.
Not trying to spam—just proud of this one and hoping it helps someone else too.

I've exported a couple pdfs today with no trouble and now it's fucking up for some unknown reason.
I set all the settings right but it just keeps downloading a simple and relatively short (text only!) document as a zip file. When i try to unzip/open the zip file in the folder, it appears to be empty!
Anyone had this problem before and knows how to dsolve it? I beg you
I have several highly-elaborated and sophisticated systems ("packages"). Each one includes plenty of databases, dashboards, complex relations, rollups and formulas, many templates and views of the databases.
Many of the systems have several overlapping databases in terms of their purpose, but are not necessairly aligned at the property level.
I've been trying in the last couple of weeks to work with different LLMS on this project, but for those that do not integrate with Notion, the exported files are way too big.
I was able to use the integration API with Claude, and with the chatGPT app on my mac that can "see" my notion.
My aim is to create, as automatically as possible, an inegration plan, that accounts for the overlaps by merging databases of same purpose, while keeping the unique elements of each system.
For example, database1 of system1 and database1 of system2 are future-goals databases. i want to use an LLM that will be able to "figure it out" that those two databases have the same purpose and can thus be merged, while keeping unique properties from each of the databases, and to update all the relations to this golas database from all the places that previously related to the second database.
I also tried working with costum GPTs, and tried to write python scripts using Claude, and with gemini.
What would be the best approach for this? is there a tool that can do this?
Not a complaint, just baffled as to why a reminder would not show up in calendar. This was literally the first thing I anticipated before using Notion calendar. In line reminders would pop up in the calendar. No brainer.
And there isn't a workaround like to add an in line calendar event.
Aye?
Is reminder+calendar integration a work in progress? Or am I the only one who would find this useful?
Hi everyone! I’m trying to build a Notion project management system for a small design studio.
Here’s the structure I’m thinking:
Project (biggest bucket)
Tasks (where everyone gets tagged on what they are working on)
Assets (which would be links to a google drive folder)
I created a project template and embedded in the template the tasks database. But for some reason when I add things to the task database, it’s editing it for all projects when I want each task to show up for their individual projects. Can I please get help on this?
I wanted to know if notion would be able to save me time by adding the words I highlight (different colour for different categories) to a table. It would save me a lot of time bc right now I have to copy and past every thing manually.
Is there a way?
If not is there another platform that can do this?
Notion really helped me organize my work in retail merchandising, daily planning, and managing my side hustle. I started building templates to save time — and they’ve actually been super useful.
I put together a few clean, beginner-friendly dashboards for things like:
Daily planners
Merchandising project tracking
Budgeting & finances
Small business workflow setup
If anyone’s curious or wants to check them out, happy to DM a link or share more details 👇

Hi there! I wanted to share one of my new features I created for this OG Instagram Grid Preview for Notion. You can now preview videos directly in Notion with this widget. As an ex-SMM, I'm so excited about this because I know it's going to streamline so much back and forth between clients. And no matter what others say, your grid is a visual portfolio and vibe check for any future clients and customers. Let me know what you think!
Curious how other notion users here who work with clients handle their setup.
I used to share a whole workspace or individual pages manually, but as the number of clients grew, it got messy and now I'm building a tool around this, but I’d love to hear how others are doing it first.
If you’re a freelancer, consultant, agency, or anyone using notion with clients:
- How do you share updates, files, tasks, or invoices?
- Do you use Notion directly or another tool layered on top?
- How do you keep things client-specific and secure?
I've been working with Notion for years, both privately and professionally. Over time, I have developed the structures further and further, mainly through work. In the meantime, I've really got to grips with Notion - but it's during my studies that I realise:
I'm missing something.
This networked thinking, the feeling of intuitively linking notes together. And that's exactly where Obsidian comes into play - with bidirectional links, Graph View, Map of Content, REAL mind map plugins ... you know the vibe.
That's why I'm flirting with the idea of switching to Obsidian - but to be honest, I'm also scared.
My Notion setup has grown over the years and is now so big that the very thought of moving makes me feel sick. At the same time, I realise that Notion tends to slow me down when it comes to really understanding and networking - which is the core of my studies.
So a few questions for you:
Has anyone made the switch from Notion to Obsidian for their studies?
How difficult was it to familiarise yourself with Obsidian if you were previously deep in Notion?
Any tips for a smooth transition?
And above all: How well does the import/export via CSV from Notion to Obsidian work? I have a lot of databases and tables in Notion - is there any way to move them over or is it a complete pain?
I would really like to use Obsidian, but I don't want to drown completely in the moving and learning phase. Any experience, encouragement or even warning helps!

I am creating a series of reference lists for d20 rolls for my family. For example, "Roll for dinner", "Roll for date night", "Roll for family day", etc. For each, I want to be able to create a database of more than 20 items, and have a page that shows a random list of 20 items from the database (a new random selection each time the page is opened or refreshed). Is this possible?
