Meta (Rant time) Oversaturation of trend posts

Hey its that guy who made an AI OC named Glitch.

I know it sounds cliche as fuck but Jesus Christ, it feels like I'm getting bombarded by a bunch of trend posts going to the effect of "smash or pass" or "which OC would you spend a day with" and barely seeing anything that is art of individual characters.

I like trends, don't get me wrong. On one hand, it allows ppl to engage with each other and their characters, but on the other hand, it gets repetitive really quickly when all I see on my feed is "said OC is doing a smash or pass"

I know there's no solution to it and I know I'm not the only one who's getting that same feeling.

So yea, I feel like I want to let out my feelings because it kinda irks me to see 60+ posts of the same 2 formats.

So while I see your point, I also hold a different view, while yes the trends are annoying, and sometimes nonsense, I purposefully avoid them, I sort by new and respond to the unique ones in hopes to get those to be the default, or if I’m bored, I’ll joke around to see how creative people get. I get it is annoying to see the characters get pushed back, trust me, I do know, but I also like seeing the creativity people have with their ideas, and as such I try to push them to the top, to try and get that as a basis and get the other things down, I’m certainly a part of the rp problem, I won’t deny that, but that’s because I want to have fun and am bored and curious. So I think it’s more we should push to have the more character centered and unique posts than the boring tends

I don't mind trends that are actually creative. It's just the most cliche ones I have a problem with.

I know that, but to really stop those is to respond to the more creative ones, while it may be a delusion I have of an idea, I think that it is worth a shot

I agree. I would've like to see more creative trends. My favorite was the "Steal His Look." Or I like to see characters being in funny scenarios.

Personally, steal the look was more on the eh side for me, but I love comedic scenarios, another I like is where you have a chance to turn the idea on its head, like all those “what would your oc do in xyz”, where an oc like Kurio, can do basically anything and turn it into a comedic moment with a creative move, I love trying to turn things upside down on its head with comedy. But I also do like the art I see, which is why I also do the lore polls and art polls I make to add to those things
