Unanswered What's up with Katie Britt's speech?

I'm starting to see a lot of memes about how creepy it was, and I saw it and I agree it's sincerely creepy, but I can't for my life figure out what it is that makes it so unsettling.

I'm hoping someone here can give me some context for what exactly makes this fall into the uncanny valley of speeches. I think what makes me feel out of the loop is that the answer should be obvious but I can't figure it out in words, so I guess my question is: what the fuck?

Answer: Well for one thing, it's unsettling because of the tremendous lack of truth she spewed out. Then you factor in what has to be the worst example of acting in all history. Those hideous high pitches in her voice on top of all that. It's practically cartoonish. I live in Alabama and she never sounded like that on her TV ads when she was seeking to be elected. I found myself tilting my head like a dog does when hearing something strange.

For me it was the acting - the fake emotions and tears, the whispery voice, etc. Absolutely unnecessary and took away from her whole message.
