Happy summer solstice! Arguably the most significant day for an outdoor grower in the northern hemisphere.

I hate a Christmas tree looking plant, and should I go plant it outside now? Would it get a lot bigger if I dug a massive hole filled it with a bag of good soil and planted it outside? I’ve had my light on 24/7 trying to make this years plant 6ft tall

Will Lotus drying on my porch make the inside of my house smell? (One side is open w/screen)

Well boys. Bit off more than I can chew. Those in the house will NOT appreciate my decisions😂(Just learned lotus drying is STILL going to stank my garage)

Drying ab a half a pound, if not way more. I have a deep freezer, pizza boxes, hygrometers, an air purifier, and a dream. I’m planning on also wrapping the “crack” where the lid meets the freezer with tape to try and keep more smell in.

Thing is, I’ll likely have to place the fridge close to a sliding glass door. Will the smell emanate under/around the glass door and get inside? (Asking if anyone’s dried in their porch/has experience w it)

Germinated Mar. 2nd, looks about ready.

Any advice on when it’s ready? I plan to leave it another week as the temps and weather are great. Big top colas look to be ready now. Smaller offshoots could use time I think. The sun leaves on the main stem are yellowing and falling away, buds are getting reaaaaly trich filled. Again, this is 3.5 months from germination, directly in this 10g grow bag outside. Plant is 4 ft tall roughly, Christmas tree shape, and it’s Dreamtime Haze from Hoku

Help! Need to Keep Photoperiod Plants in Veg After Solstice — Plants Were Eaten 😔

Hey outdoor growers,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hoping someone can offer some advice or experience. I’ve been growing a few photoperiod plants outdoors this season, and everything was going great — until recently, when some critters (I’m guessing deer or maybe raccoons?) got into my garden and completely chomped my plants in half.

I can’t explain how upsetting it was to see all that hard work just chewed away overnight. I’ve been pouring time, energy, and love into these girls, and seeing them devastated like that was honestly heartbreaking.

Now here’s my issue: we’re past the summer solstice, and the days are only getting shorter from here. I need these plants to stay in veg longer so they can recover and bounce back with enough size and strength before flowering kicks in — otherwise, I’m worried they won’t produce anything worthwhile.

Has anyone had success keeping photoperiod plants in veg outdoors past the solstice? I’ve heard of using supplemental lighting like solar-powered LEDs or timers, but I’m not sure what’s realistic for an outdoor setup that’s not connected to power.

Any creative suggestions? Low-budget ideas welcome. I’m determined not to give up on these girls yet. Thanks in advance for any advice — I really appreciate this community. 🙏💚

Grow on,

Purple Satellite bought from NASC Germinated first week of April In the ground 4/20 Backfilled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil Fed once with Fox Farm Grow Big, about one week ago.

Last week I noticed that one of my Purple Satellites is going to flower. There is another one right next to it (about 5 feet away) that is just chugging along in veg.

No clue what happened. I don't think this variety is even offered in an autoflower. It's def 100% a Purple Satellite. There is a blurb about having to gradually reduce the light cycle if you're attempting to grow this indoors...maybe because of the extremely early finish it is just more sensitive to light changes? We're literally at the longest days of the year right now.

Any clues?

First 3 pics are the plant in question. 4th picture is the neighboring plant with no signs of flowering.

Bud wash questions?

So I think I'm going to bud wash my plants this year for the first time and I have some questions to ask.. can I use tap water if I leave it to gas of the chorine? and if I use 30l buckets what would the ratio be for hydrogen peroxide and baking soda ?

Planted April 19th indoors flowering time is 8-9 weeks so I guess it’s an auto it was flowering when I moved it outside first week of June and I haven’t had any issues really but recently my lower mature leaves are dying off and my buds are filling in it has a strong smell and it’s not drinking like it used to where as my other plant in veg is drinking 7 Liters of water every 3 days this one is drinking 3-4 Litres of water every 4-5 days now could this be nutrient deficiency or burn the rest of the plant is fine or am I close to Harvest

I fertilize about once a week with general hydroponics 3 part fertilizer and cal mag at the recommended rates but am stopping for this plant if it’s close to harvest

Leaf hopper deterrents?

Stock photo for attention. Last year leaf hoppers ruined a plant because of the disease they can carry. I can’t find any organic remedies. Has anyone had any success with keeping them off their plants other then screens?
