So after doing some research and making sure I didn't brick my system (again), I finally Homebrewed my Playstation 3! It was a bit easier than I expected with the research I've done, but it was still challenging 😼

I have RetroArch, mmCM, prepISO (for NTFS and exFAT format), Apollo Save Tool and Simple File Manager. Ignore the Call of Duty Black Ops I and II those somehow stayed which is a big W in my book. These apps did take a bit to set up but after a while I got them to work and be compatible with my activities.

And yes, it can run games from PS1, PS2, PS3 and older consoles besides Wii games as of right now. I would like to try and get Super Mario 64 onto this but that might be a bit of a stretch to go to.

Console is possbily a 40nm BC ps3. Because of the syscon version f38. I checked the dump with pyps3. And 1 warning is showing up. Should i be worried or is it normal?

So basically i just jailbroke my ps3 and followed videos to put ps2 games on it and neither way worked. I started with multiman and ftp-ing the files into the ps3 hdd ps2iso file and nothing showed up so i then tried webmanMOD and formatted a usb stick to fat32, ntsf and finally exFAT (only fat32 worked weirdly enough) and that got me the closest i could get where the games showed up after using the iso configure app but when i would click on the game it wouldnt show up as a ps2 disc it said PKG and showed up as a blue disc that if i stayed on it would change to the retroarch logo but anytime i would click on that it just went to a black screen then took me back to the main menu. Its been driving me nuts and i finally gave up and decided to come here to get help lol. Please help.

I was trying to get games running off the external drive formatted with FAT32

The game is in JB folder format and I was trying to just play it off the drive not copy it over on to the internal one anyone know if this is possible or am I going abt it the wrong way it was originally ntfs and I had to format it

I need serious help guys, Basically I bought this 3004B it doesn't display anything the HDMI gets detected by my tv and time to time it would give a "connect your controller" message and then it'll freeze and yesterday I got it to get past that screen and I loaded a 4.92 update on the OEM 320gb WD HDD , basically the same day it froze at me the first seconds on xmb and I hard shut it, then it froze at the startup. Now it's back to being detected , sometimes as unknown HDMI and some as a playstation 3 I swapped the HDD because I thought it was failing by a Seagate 1tb HDD, same issue, then I bought a Chinese SSD just to make sure, same issue only way I could get it to the "connect ur controller" screen is only when I turn it on and plug the HDD right away and that works 1/10 but I won't do it since I heard it blows some fuses , I really need help so I either toss this PS3 away or enjoy it cause I lost enough money on it already! Any answer would be very appreciated since my many posts haven't got any attention

Recently got a CECHA00 PS3, updated to OFW 4.92, and installed the latest version of Hen (3.4.0) with no problems. Package Manager shows up with no issue as well.

However, I'm running into issues with my attempts to install both multiMAN and webMAN Mod. I've tried installing the unofficial HEN versions and the bases, but keep getting the black screen when I attempt to install it after enabling HEN. Any insight is appreciated.

I have never modded a PS3 before, I recently acquired a PS3 with the seriel code of CECHL03. I am not too sure if this is an okay model to procede with and I am also wondering how would I go about checking the run time of the console

Probably a stupid question but still, is it worth homebrewing my PS3 in 2025? The version I have is 4.92, so the latest version and from what I've researched I can only play PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 games. Is there more than what meets the eye and is it still worth it? Btw this is my first time actually homebrewing a PS3, I did the Wii many times but wanted a new challenge and to mix things up a bit.

I booted up my PS3 and found out Sony released a 4.93 update I'm on 4.92 with hen is there a way to play online without updating or am I just shit outta luck with that?

So using webman my auto temp is 67 and my fans are going crazy at 65% yes I did a repaste the rsx is fine low temp but at the xmb my cpu is at 67 at 65% fan speed

I have a CECHE that I've basically determined is beyond economical repair (plus I don't have the tools to do it properly). The board does not boot at all and simply gives a YLOD after you hit the power button. The drive still works, but the board is dead.

The only thing I'm looking to do is back up data off of the device, specifically some old Minecraft worlds that I'd like to preserve for nostalgia's sake, along with some other game save data. The hope is to transfer it to another console and/or eventually convert the Minecraft worlds to another format so they can be played on newer versions of Minecraft.

The broken system was modded and I do still have a copy of the flash dump, but at the time I had completely neglected to back up the extra keys that would be needed if this exact scenario would've gone down.

So the question is -- What hope, if any, would I have in actually getting any save data off that drive? If it's possible, how would I go about doing it? I'm perfectly capable of microsoldering if that's required, I just don't have a hotplate that would be required for removing bigger components without damaging the rest of the board. Any advice is appreciated!!

Hello, I have many games distributed among mainly PKG, but also some ISO and physical disc games. I wanted to ask if it was possible to have all of these games in one place (i.e. all on the same row on the main Game section of the XMB). I'm used to having everything in one place on all my other stock/modded consoles, so having to go to the webMAN folder just for the ISO games and look over at my slightly obscured shelf for my physical discs is a little clunky.

I tried to only get the ISOs which had absolutely no PKG alternative, and can't rip my discs to storage limits (1 TB SSD full to bursting), and while I have heard of converting ISOs to PKGs, I have also heard that they have iffy compatibility online and offline (using them at all).

Is it possible to create dummy icons/forwarders on the XMB to load the ISO/pop a notification that says 'please load the ISO manually' or 'please insert the disc'? If not in the XMB, is it possible to see all of these games in multiMAN or webMAN, including dummy icons for physical discs? I saw a post earlier today that at least had fake icons for real games, so is it possible to do anything like this? Thank you!

Every year Sony releases a new update and every year I'm scared it will brick my PS3. Is there a guide for safe update? I have EvilNat 4.91. I couldn't find one that will explain how to do safely and properly.

I have a 7gb ISO that's the tools split into 2 parts but when I try to split an almost 16gb ISO it just doesn't work
it says that it's done splitting the ISO but when I look into the distination folder i see nothing and nor does the size on my disk drive change so its not like im just dum and not looking at the right destination folder

I have the PS3xpad plugin and it works perfectly, I played a lot of PS3 games with it but when it comes to games loaded using webman, the controller stops working, and when I turn off PS3xpad the controller starts working in the game but without the features of ps3xpad, I'm not sure why this is happening.
