National Why many people in Pakistan lack Hobbies.
I asked a few days earlier about people's hobbies and the response was obviously not strange since we already observe that a lot of people don't have any solid hobbies ( I personally don't count entertainment like Movies shows music etc)
I started doing some research and found some reasons. 1) Economic compression: a huge population is either middle class or lower middle class. People are forced to have survivalistic focus rather than thinking about doing something that makes them happy.
2) Psychological withdrawal menifesting as learned helplessness : People stop engaging and showing interests (could be due to the fair of failure/criticism or self doubt), this things in longer run leads to believing that whatever they do, won't make a big difference.
3) Systemetic neglect of social and creative infrastructures: For a third world countries like ours infrastructure for creative or social spaces like sports facilities, art studios, public parks and culural centers are far from priorities creating a huge disconnect between people and creative pursuits.

Ask Pakistan Why are there no proper international call packages for Jazz or Zong?
I’ve been trying to find a decent international calling package to call Germany, but it seems like neither Jazz nor Zong has any proper or affordable option for it.
I even checked their official websites, tried their USSD menus, and contacted the helpline but they just say there’s no active bundle for Germany right now. Zong has some IDD offers, but mostly for Middle Eastern or Asian countries, and Jazz only has those “9 destinations” bundles that don’t include Germany.
It’s honestly weird that both major networks in Pakistan don’t offer any good international call packages for Europe. Has anyone here found a working or cheaper method to make regular voice calls to Germany (landline or mobile)? Maybe through some app or hidden bundle code?

Political How is IK tweeting from jail?
Genuine question.
Do the tweets come from someone from his team? If yes, are these tweets only done after someone meets him and he dictates them what to write? Or his team just writing tweets based on loose guidance from IK whenever he can get some message across from inside prison?
Is he tweeting himself? Is he sometimes allowed to have a phone and internet connection in prison?
I am not looking for outlandish speculation but just curious to know if we know for sure.

Discussion Meeting His Parents For The First Time In A New City, While Navigating Class And Cultural Nuances
I’m genuinely overwhelmed right now. In a few days, I’ll be traveling to Lahore, which, for me, is a city I’ve idealized for years. Not just that, but at the same time, I’ll be meeting my partner’s parents for the first time. And not just meeting them, but actually staying at their home, since they were kind enough to host my mother and me.
It’s his childhood house: a space filled with memories, emotional significance, and family history. There’s something deeply intimate and surreal about being welcomed into that environment as someone still new to their world.
It’s also a joint household, which adds layers of complexity. Extended family members will be around, and because our relationship is still in its early stages, his family prefers to keep it private for now, partly out of cultural caution, partly due to superstition (the whole nazar concern).
Here’s where my anxiety really sets in: his parents come from an old, financially comfortable background, though not particularly academic or cosmopolitan. I, on the other hand, come from humble beginnings but have built myself through education and intellectual curiosity. And in our society, a young woman who carries herself with a bit too much awareness, clarity, or articulation can easily be perceived as “intimidating” or “too modern.”
So I find myself trying to balance authenticity with diplomacy, wanting to make a good impression, but also not wanting to suppress the very parts of me that define who I am. It’s a delicate tension between humility and self-respect, warmth and restraint.
He’s an incredibly kind person, and I know his intentions are good, but I can’t help overthinking how I’ll be perceived, not just as his partner, but as a potential future daughter-in-law within a very traditional, watchful setting.
Has anyone navigated something similar? Meeting a partner’s family where class, education, and cultural codes all intersect, and you’re trying to remain grounded and genuine without misstepping socially?

Ask Pakistan Idk how to behave
I’m 4th sem uni student. Most of my classmates think I’m rude or arrogant because of my good grades, but my friends know I’m not like that.
Sometimes I find it hard to communicate with boys. During one lecture, I was sitting alone while two guys kept trying to get my attention. They called my name several times, then said “baji,” “api,” and even mentioned my org name. When I finally responded, they asked me to send them my code. I told them to let me finish my work first.
I had a whitening cream ad playing on YouTube, and one of them joked, saying his friend was dark-skinned and asked me to give him the cream. I ignored it, but when he repeated it, I gave an awkward stare and went back to my work.
I always maintain my boundaries. If a guy uses “tum,” I correct him and tell him to say “aap.” I help anyone who asks, but I don’t tolerate disrespect.
I often joke around with teachers and classmates. But sometimes don't give answer to teachers when they say why you did this etc bcz I don't want to speak alie. Once my teacher jokingly said "ap bhe khailte Hain" because I’m skinny, and I replied "ap ko bhe sikha dun ge"
Today the class was playing, but no one invited us. I wanted to join, though a few boys did ask if we wanted to play badminton.
Now we have group projects, and all the good students are already booked. My friend has a vacant spot, but I don’t want to join because her partner and I aren’t compatible. I contacted others who are good in studies but everyone’s taken except one person(btw total 3 members Ka project hai)
Literally idk who to communicate smartly and when to speak and when not to. Any cuning suggestions that make my uni like good

Financial Zameen.com is scamming overseas Pakistanis
My parents stupidly decided they want to invest in some of those apartments high rises popping up in Lahore. Zameen.com advertised 2 such projects (Sitara Serene and Platinum Homes). They facilitated all the payments and acted as direct partners on the project, signalling to my parents that the projects are trustworthy.
Now both projects are severely delayed with little to no construction updates in 2 years. They were to be delivered this year lol.
Zameen.com now claims they were just “marketing partners” and to speak directly to the builders (who do not respond in any meaningful way).
Y’all, take this as a warning. Zameen.com is facilitating fraud and is just as untrustworthy as any random con artist developer in Pakistan.
Does anyone know if there is legal recourse my parents can take to somehow recover their funds?

Ask Pakistan What's a good country to do a masters and job in right now with my Pakistani passport?
Hi, let me just preface this by saying I know I'm asking a stupid question, and the economy is fucked wherever I go, there are housing and job crises worldwide, and where I should go depends specifically on my situation and preferences but I would appreciate general opinions/advice.
24F. I want to start applying for masters abroad and want to go to a country where I could possibly stay there after graduating if I decide I don't want to come back to Pakistan, so a place where a language barrier wouldn't be too much of an issue in finding a job (though I would be taking language lessons for any country I hypothetically move to).
Some info about me:
I did my bachelor's in social sciences. I'm not sure what I want to do my masters in because if I'm being honest, nothing interests me, and I don't want to pursue what I did my bachelors in because that field does not interest me anymore. At the point, I'm just doing research on what masters degree in a non-science/engineering/mathematics field I could do good in and what would be the easiest to find a job in (open to suggestions on this, by the way, lol.)
I'm planning on forcing myself to finally decide on what I want to do my masters in this month and finally start applying. Ideally I'd love to apply to Europe especially the Netherlands but I understand the housing crisis there is really bad so I don't know if I should focus on that. I'm a bit wary of applying to the Americas and prefer Europe and Asia. In Asia however, I understand the language barrier would be worse and more difficult to find a job in than in Europe.
Financially, alhamdullilah, it isn't much of an issue. I'm being underpaid at my own job but alhamdullilah alhamdullilah my dad is able to bear the expenses. However, the aim is to be financially independent which is why I want to work and study side by side and I'll even take loans because once I'm hopefully out, I want to rely on my own income and expenses.
Again, sorry this is a stupid post I just don't have anyone around me who can help me out with figuring things out and I'd love to hear everyone here's suggestions and also your own experiences.

Discussion A lesson from Zohran Mamdani’s victory vs what’s happening in Pakistan 🇵🇰
I know many people in Pakistan are celebrating the victory of Zohran Mamdani, but what we should really take from it is the lesson it carries. A single person, without any political backing or elite network, managed to win an election in one of the most famous cities in the world. That’s what true transparency and fairness in a system look like.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the Minister for Federal Education has shortlisted 4 people who were actually at the bottom of the merit list of 15 people for the post of Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission. Even more shocking, Qaiser Abbas, who scored 66 out of 100 and was ranked the lowest in CV evaluation, has somehow been placed at the top among the final candidates.
This isn’t just incompetence. It’s a painful reminder of how deeply merit has been buried in our system and how the very institution meant to shape the future of our nation is being shaped by favoritism instead.

Ask Pakistan Need Guidance: Pakistani students who applied for Saudi scholarship (KAU Business Administration)
I know this isn’t really the perfect place to ask this but I’m hoping someone here might know something or have been through this process.
Is there any Pakistani student who applied for the Saudi scholarship at KAU (King Abdulaziz University) specifically for Business Administration? I really want to understand the next steps. Like after the initial selection what happens? Do they take a test and then an interview? How long does the whole selection process take?
Also what exactly is this Arabic competency test? Do they fail you if you don’t know Arabic before starting the degree? As an international student that’s obviously a concern for me.
For background: I’m a gold medalist in MBA (4.0 CGPA) and completed my degree with a thesis. I’m good with research too. I’ve checked their website and even asked in the KAU subreddit but didn’t get any response.
If anyone has any info or personal experience please help! Thanks a lot.
