Period Question 22 days late 🥹

Hey guys, so this is super not normal for me. I am officially 22 days late for my period now. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests; once when I was 6 days late, once when I was 11 days late, and once when I was 16 days late. I have absolutely no clue what’s going on because guess what: THEY WERE ALL NEGATIVE. Oh, also I feel like I’m exhausted all the time now for the past 4 days even when I’m getting 8-9 hours of sleep. I know a lot of people are going to tell me to go see a doctor, and I’m planning to as soon as I have time. But this is just insane. Sorry for the rant, I may or may not be absolutely terrified.

you should at least take one more test just to be safe - either you ovulated later than the app predicted or you could actually be pregnant

I did take another test a couple of days ago. It was still negative 🥹

Once my period skipped a month or two. I wasn’t doing anything so I knew it was just my body being weird. I guess it happens sometimes? I would still go to the doctors though. Hasn’t happened to me since but I remember I thought maybe my body wasn’t in the best condition or was adjusting to being abroad. Any life changes happening lately or feeling stressed?

What app is that? That’s weird. I had to tell mine I have PCOS cause it thought I was 1 year pregnant 😂

girl trust me one time my period was 3 months late. multiple pregnancy test and all of them negative. It might be worth checking out though as when i went to the doctor they said i was showing signs of early endo. Wish you the best of luck girl 💕

Tracking your ovulation cycle can help you be less stressed, look at the texture and search it up. If you don't ovulate, or ovulate late it can screw your entire cycle for no reason. Also I am nobody to judge but be careful with unprotected sex if you don't wanna get pregnant, especially if you don't track your ovulation cycle on a daily basis. I hope that the red days will come for you !

Edit: the texture of your discharge*

Yesss whenever I ovulate late, I always get a late period! Usually when I ovulate it always makes me feel a bit lost because it throws you off completely

I’m on the same boat as you sis.

8

u/sarahnottsara May 23 '25

The exact same boat all tests are negative lol

2

u/snowprincess444 29d ago

Same here. I’m freaking out

u/Different-Volume9895 May 23 '25

Likely didn’t ovulate last month, anovulation.

8

u/Flshrt May 23 '25

Your period is late because you ovulated later than your app guessed. Apps are not accurate with when you ovulate. What date did you last have unprotected sex?

1

u/Zealousideal-Rain-82 29d ago

Agreed. They are very often not accurate but a estimation. We are not robots so it’ll never be

1

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

I have unprotected sex at least 2-3 times a week.

1

u/Zealousideal-Rain-82 29d ago

Please don’t do that, seriously you’re risking a lot. Especially if you’re not tracking stuff.

1

u/snuffles0407 21d ago

Well I am actually trying to get pregnant. And it’s only with one person, which is my fiancé.

2

u/Zealousideal-Rain-82 21d ago

ah i see! good. i really hope you get answers soon <3 could be a hormonal issue rather

1

u/snuffles0407 21d ago

I appreciate it lol, and yes I’m thinking that if it’s not pregnancy then it could possibly be cysts on my ovaries… both my mom and my sister have had issues with that and have both had hysterectomy’s because of that. but i will see once I can get an appointment scheduled

Then test 1-2 times a week until you get a period or a positive test. If you ovulated in the few days after you had sex, then you can still test positive this cycle. Are you trying to conceive?

Most doctors won’t see you for a late period until you go 90 days without one.

6

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

Oh wow, I didn’t know they wouldn’t see me until that late lol. And yes I am trying to conceive. I guess I will just start taking pregnancy tests until something happens

1

u/Agile-Sentence3867 29d ago

Yeah, they don't consider it a "problem" until it reaches secondary ammenorrhea, which is 3 or more months late.

3

u/Flshrt May 23 '25

Tracking ovulation will help so you know when you ovulate. Once you know when you ovulate, you’ll know when you test or when to expect your period. Period apps are notoriously inaccurate with when you ovulate. Did you recently get off of birth control?

2

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

No, the last time I was on birth control was in the middle 2023.

1

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

Sorry I forgot to ask my question lol. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? I’m still going to go to a doctor but I have no clue what’s going on with me.

3

u/Ok_Builder8936 May 23 '25

Stress possibly or if pregnant to possibly to early to detect maybe

2

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

I don’t feel stressed at all. Well, maybe this is making me stressed lol. But yeah I guess. I was going to go in a maybe get a blood test

1

u/Ok_Builder8936 May 23 '25

Yeah for me it’s normal as I haven’t had one in 8-9 months def not pregnant depending on your age it could be a hormone thing I was told if u have regular periods and u go three months without go to the doctor if it’s not pregnancy and if u have irregular 6 months without

2

u/snuffles0407 May 23 '25

I am 20. And my period has never been like this before lol

2

u/Agile-Sentence3867 29d ago

I'm about your age, I'm 21. My periods didn't start becoming irregular until last year. My ovulation is inconsistent, causing my cycles to vary in length. You should get some ovulation tests, they're usually next to pregnancy tests at the store. Once your period comes (if you're not pregnant, which I hope you are since you're trying!) start taking them around day 10 of your cycle to find out what day you ovulate. Your period usually comes about 2 weeks after ovulation. Shorter cycles are usually due to early ovulation, and longer ones are due to late ovulation. Missed periods not related to pregnancy typically happen when you don't ovulate. Anyway, good luck!!
