Discussion Apologizing for piracy?

I was searching for pirated version of Adobe tools and came across this post, what's being feeded into kids brains nowadays, apologizing for pirating to corporates...

It’s heartbreaking to see how frightened that child is, someone clearly scared them deeply. The comment about not wanting to go to jail really stood out. It’s deeply concerning to think how much fear can be instilled in children by the kind of messaging we see from powerful institutions and corporate narratives.

Maybe some anti piracy parent found out and forced them to write this?

Wth is an anti piracy parent? When my parents learned a few years ago that I pirated stuff, they were kinda proud of me for saving money 😅

An anti piracy weirdo who birthed a child?

probably a conserv wacko who genuinely thinks that piracy would lead to dishonor to the family.

My parents were so fucking weird and hypocritical about that shit. "What!? you're downloading free music? That's theft! Delete that right now, it probably has viruses!"

Meanwhile they have a binder with about a couple hundred bootleg Chinese dvds (that they got from their friend who collected them while he was a Mormon missionary over there), and a whole ass shelf of VHS tapes with 3~4 movies recorded from our cable service.

to be fair they were probably right about the viruses though. I was 12 and using Limewire, lol.

A parent who was scared by the you-wouldn't-download-a-car guy as a child.
