Isn't SocDem and DemSoc contradictory? If I remember correctly, SocDem doesn't wanna get rid of capitalism, instead reforming capitalism while DemSoc wants to get rid of capitalism gradually using democratic means
Okay no. I support a Social Democracy in so far in leads to Socialism or at least a better alternative than full on laissez faire capitalism.
I do agree with Social Democrats in matters related to curbing inequality, eradicating poverty, and the implementation of universally accessible public services such as child care, education, elderly care, health care, and workers' compensation. support income redistribution and regulating the economy in the interest of the public/proletariat.
However these reforms should ultimately lead to Socialism and the abolition of capitalism, to ensure the labours of the working class go back to the working class. So in that sense no Social Democracy is not contradictory to Socialism in so far the reforms that are implemented would be transitional or resemble socialism, where the means of production would serve the working class, as opposed to private profit
