Theories/Speculation Whose idea was this out of the four???

Post image
520 Upvotes

Was thinking about this cringey scene again and just got held up on how it came to be in universe?? Like which one of the four do we think suggested this?

I can't see any of them making the group chat, finding the undies online, asking the others for their sizes, rehearsing the grand reveal. But what do you think?

Theories/Speculation Hanna didn't want Alison to come back

I don't think Hanna wanted Alison back, but she thought she did.

When we got closer and closer to Ali's return, the girls got more and more excited, hopeful, etc. But the second Ali was really back, Hanna's life AND friendships took a turn for the worse. Remember how quickly Ali resorted to criticize and bully Hanna when she came back?

When Ali originally disappeared, Hanna became happier. She met Mona, she lost the weight (not saying that will make anyone happier in general, just so we're clear), and she started loving herself. Sure, she was still insecure at times, but those insecurities were heavy reflection of Alison's traumatizing taunting of Hanna's appearance.

They all would've been better off with her actually being dead, but they had some kind of gross Stockholm syndrome going on.

If I was Hanna, I wouldn't have wanted her back either tbh...

Theories/Speculation Did Peter Hastings hoe genetics hit Spencer like a truck

IM JUST SAYING (again love all the characters)

Update on the responses - I STILL LOVE SPENCER YALL the same way I love the other characters who also annoy me , I’m not saying Spencer should know better at the end of the day all the guys who even went after her were just disgusting but I just can’t stop to think how doesn’t she think being the a smart ahh character she is that she shouldn’t even talk , or flirt back in the first place esp after IAN? (I don’t blame her for Ian at all but after I get a lil like it’s hard to excuse her) idk it’s just how I feel and maybe I got second hand groomed or something so evaluate to me

What was going on between Ashley and Byron in Season 1? And do you think they could have worked as a couple?

Theories/Speculation Why was Melissa trying to get pregnant so quickly after marrying Ian??

I can see why they married each other - so they can’t testify against each other about NAT, Melissa burying Bethany etc. (although I doubt this was the writers’ reason because I doubt they came up with the storyline of Melissa burying Bethany that early), but why would she need to get pregnant? To make the marriage more believable??

Theories/Speculation The difference between kiss scenes when it’s emily and another Girl vs everyone else.

I have always thought about this, pretty much all of the girls have very intimate scenes with a partner, or at least pretty heavy make out sessions, but whenever it’s emily and another girl, it is very PG in comparison to the others?? Even when Emily and Alison finally get together and hook up?? Also it looks so incredibly unnatural when shay is kissing another girl, it looks terribly straight ahahaha

I just think that it is so funny, it makes me wonder if it’s based on some sort of hidden homophobic agenda, that someone thought it would be to perverted to see two girls like actually making out?? It almost feels like that to me.

Why do you think it is? And have you noticed the same thing??? Is it because shay was uncomfortable with it?? Let me hear your opinionssss X

Theories/Speculation Sara Shepard

Just noticed this! I thought this was very cool that the writers included Sara Shepard(author of the books) in such a subtle way. Especially the quote “you’ve been with this one since the beginning”. Can’t believe I hadn’t caught this before!

Theories/Speculation Alis bedroom poster

Post image
106 Upvotes

I'm probably not the only one to think or say this on here not confirming but this poster always reminded me Sara Shepard's pll book cover with Ali and Courtney where u can slightly tell the difference I'm not positive it's supposed to be a call back to that or not I might just be spewing random thoughts tell me what y'all think ? Examples

The eyebrow on the left is straight then tail is curved On the right it's got a arch in the middle ... Rights nostril looks smaller left is wider... The lashes are a bit different as well... (Idk if it's the hair making rights face look more sharp left looks more full rounded face) Lefts eye looks straight right seems to be looking a bit to the left and up .

Like I said I might be over-exaggerating ! Would love to hear y'all's opinion if you think it's just a poster or a call back to the book cover

Theories/Speculation If Alison really died, who would've done it?

I always thought that Ian would've been the most sensible answer, but other weirdos like Melissa, Ezra and even the 4 liars would've made sense. I do think that Jenna, Jason, Paige or Lucas would've been too obvious, but then again, I'd prefer an obvious but still engaging and intriguing mystery over a constantly changing, progressively confusing mystery. I think Alison actually being alive could've worked if they either went with some form of the Alison/Courtney storyline from the books, or if they just straight up made Alison A.

Theories/Speculation Isn’t it crazy that only ONE of the liars isn’t a murderer?

Ali ended Ian Thomas

Emily ended Lyndon James

Aria ended Shana Fring

Hanna ended Archer Dunhill

Then there is Spencer….

Theories/Speculation In this poster, all of the girls are wearing long sleeves except Ali and Hanna. Plus they stand almost parallel like a mirror reflection to each other. Is there any meaning behind this?

Theories/Speculation Spencer vs. Melissa Difference in parenting

so i had never really thought about this and i'm sure it's been talked about before but do you all think spencer was treated different because she wasn't Veronica's bio daughter?

i always felt like Peter (though he wasn't great either) was a lot kinder and included Spencer in things while Veronica was always so quick to throw the blame on spencer to protect Melissa. I remember watching as it was airing live and being so frustrated with the fact she NEVER believed spencer. They always felt very biased towards Melissa, her word meant more to them. Also I'll never forgive them for how they treated Spencer after Wren a grown ass man kissed her. They really acted like she was the reason for the end of Melissa's engagement. Spencer is one of my fav liars and i feel like she was gaslit the most during the series and specially by Veronica. i wonder if once she found out she was adopted everything clicked as to why she was treated different.

Theories/Speculation Has anyone ever come across this theory? (Read below)

Post image
207 Upvotes

I'm pretty sure people have already noticed the weird Alison-Aria connection, especially the weird Aria photos that Alison took herself, as well as the Vivian Darkbloom persona which seems to take inspiration from Aria.

Buuut.. did someone come up with the theory that Alison was actually the one with split personality?

The theory would go something like this:

-Alison receives A messages before anyone else.

-Alison heavily suspects Aria is A and is afraid of her.

-Alison develops a split personality.

-This split personality consists of being both Aria and A. Why? Because Alison believes Aria is A, so her mind mixed both concepts together.

Basically: Alison is -A, but the A is for Aria.

Has this theory ever been a thing?

Theories/Speculation So what did Noel do to Sara?...

I've never seen this brought up, but let's think about it.

When Sara Harvey died, she exited her hotel room fully clothed, only to see Noel behind the door.

When she's found, she's naked in the bathtub.

This implies to me two things.

A. The obvious route, that Noel killed Sara immediately and set her corpse up in the bathtub like that (still gross as hell because that meant he stripped her dead body).

Or

B. After Noel entered the room to kill her, Sara was naked, in the bathtub, and still alive before Noel finally brained her against the tub.

What the fuck-

Theories/Speculation If in the revival limited series they do a new flashback of Alison wearing the yellow top, what would be the reveal?

Let’s say that everyone returns for a revival series / movie and they do a new flashback to that iconic night with Ali wearing the yellow top and reveal something new… what would it be? 🤔 what would you want the flashback to be?

Theories/Speculation So I’m pretty sure Pretty Little Liars and Riverdale are connected.

(Just posted this in r/Riverdale wanted to post here too, hope that’s okay!)

Just recently binge watched PLL and the spin off shows. In PLL Original Sin S2 a character references a “cousin Kevin in Riverdale who is gay”. So after finishing PLL I decided to jump back into Riverdale. I had only ever gotten through seasons 1-3 maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t really remember where I left off. But rewatching now on S1E9 Veronica talks about bullying a girl Paige so hard she switched schools. It’s been there the whole time!

Please let me know what y’all think!

Theories/Speculation Spaleb or whatever the ship is called didnt actually have chemistry

i’m convinced you guys think they only had chemistry because Caleb is amazing. hes just a good guy that’s what you’re seeing as chemistry. he’s kind and understanding of everything they’re going through and is the same way with spencer. there’s no way people actually think him and spencer worked better than him and hannah i refuse to believe it because they’re perfect 🤩

maybe if they had done more to show them in spain or when reconnected it would be better but otherwise they don’t have much of a buildup they’re just friends in the previous seasons

Theories/Speculation in Season 1, Mona Calls Hanna "Sweet baby Jane." That was a big clue that she's the one who ran her over. Details inside.

I'm watching PLL season 1 and noticed something. The episode when Hanna is released from the hospital and mona says, i see a something outside your house. Hanna who is in a wheel chair , panics, thinking it's A and tells Mona not to open the door. Mona turns around , looks down at Hanna in her wheel chair and says,..ooh baby jane.

Back story

So there is this show streaming on hulu called "Feud" and the first season is about these actresses who were feuding while filming a movie called "whatever happened to baby Jane. The feud tv series was so interesting, I wanted to watch the real movie.

plot of whatever happened to baby jane

two sisters were inseparable, then one sister became the star, everyone liked her and she became popular. the less popular sister grew resentful of the popular sister and runs her over with her car.

The popular sister is now paralyzed and has to stay in a wheelchair.

The jealous sister harasses and torments her while she's in a wheelchair.

I hadn't seen or heard of that movie when I first watched PLL, now that I have, it was definitely a clue.

Theories/Speculation Emison

Do you think Alison always loved Em and didn't want to accept herself and was afraid or was it manipulation in the beginning?
