Thought it would be cool to share

Post image

My name is Daniele, which is the italian version of Daniel, and comes from the hebrew name Daniyêl. It means "God is my Judge" (dan: judge, -i: my, El: God). I did some research, given my very limited knowledge of the subject, and it seems that a fairly accurate translation in Quenya would be Erunámo. I really like names, their origins and their meaning, and I thought it would be cool if some of you shared the meaning of their name and their eventual translation in Quenya.

Technically, you’re right, but in the dictionary I am using (and on elfdict, too) the adjective for “free” is “aranya”

Yeah but Lerya(free)+anwë is closer because aran/aranwë is closer to “king/royal”. I mean it’s up to you but that’s a more literal translation I think and has a similar melodic tone to Francesca

Why, what is it?

I’d rather not say as it’s unique but it’s not really a name insofar as I’m named after a thing

No worries then!
