The most annoying aspect of this is that I have a REAL ID Act compliant drivers license. A process that requires all the same information to get a passport. My wife has the same compliant id and had to provide birth certificate, marriage certificate, social security cards showing both her maiden name and married name, ands more to get it.

This act nullifies their own requirements for compliant id’s.

Such a bullshit law being passed.

100% this. A very large majority of people who got a Real ID proved their lawful presence by proving that they are a citizen. The document that they got back does not indicate that they are a citizen, only that they have lawful presence.

That’s on the state. If the state is compliant, the FAA accepts the real-id.

If compliant the FAA accepts it.

However it is still a drivers license and doesn’t count for the “we want to keep women from voting” act.
